    They break at the point where the metal meets the plastic. I have tried four different designs, both in pens and mechanical pencils, and they all have the exact same flaw, they break at the same spot. Unfortunately, even though they are very beautiful and unique, with a very nice texture in their writing, you will need a new one after about five months.
