An HP LaserJet Pro M420dn broke at work and it wasn't worth repairing.
The main thing someone would want to know first is how long the ink lasts compared to the toner and how much it costs.
- The original XL HP toner costs around €130, compatible toner costs €35.
-- The toner lasts about 2-3 months or around 10,000 prints.
- The original L Epson ink costs €12.
-- The ink lasts 2-3 months or around 12,000 prints. (Epson says 15,000 but we haven't achieved that, maybe if printing in Draft mode)
The second thing someone will ask about is the speed. Compared to toner printers, it is equally fast, maybe even a little faster in printing and preparation.
Another good thing is that there are no issues like the drum breaking, the oven not heating, or the toner cartridges breaking and causing delays in invoices, because we're not talking about 5-10 prints.
The printer only prints invoices. The setup is Normal printing with -2 in color tone. If left at factory settings, the prints come out much more vibrant and maybe 2,000 pages less.
The only negative is that the installation is a bit backwards. It's not difficult, but you have to sit down and see what options to choose, it's not like HP, Canon where you click Next -> Next -> configure the network -> Next.
Finally, I don't know the durability over time and what problems/damages it may cause. I will come back if it causes any issues or in about 6 months.
Χάλασε ένας HP LaserJet Pro M420dn στην δουλεία και δεν σύμφερε να τον επισκευάσουμε.
To βασικό που κάποιος θα θέλει να ξέρει πρώτα είναι πόσο κρατάει το μελάνι σε σχέση με το toner και πόσο είναι το κόστος.
- Το αυθεντικό XL toner της HP κάνει γύρο στα 130€, συμβατό κάνει 35€.
-- Το toner κρατάει περίπου 2-3 μήνες ή γύρο στις 10000 εκτυπώσεις.
- Το αυθεντικό L μελάνι Epson κάνει 12€.
-- Το μελάνι κρατάει 2-3 (γενάτος ο τρίτος) μήνες ή γύρο στις 12000 εκτυπώσεις. (15000 λέει η Epson αλλά δεν τις έχουμε πετύχει, ίσως αν επιλεχτεί η εκτύπωση στο Draft)
Το δεύτερο που θα ρωτήσει κάποιος είναι η ταχύτητα. Σε σχέση με εκτυπωτές toner είναι το ίδιο γρήγορος ίσως και λίγο πιο γρήγορος και στην εκτύπωση και στην προετοιμασία.
Ένα ακόμα καλό είναι πως δεν υπάρχουν προβληματάκια όπως να σπάει το drum, να μην ζεσταίνει ο φούρνος ή να σπάνε τα ελάσματα του toner και να βγαίνει εκτός ένα γεμάτο toner και να καθυστερούν τα τιμολόγια, γιατί δεν μιλάμε για 5-10 εκτυπώσεις.
Ο εκτυπωτής το μόνο που βγάζει είναι τιμολόγια. Το setup είναι Κανονική εκτύπωση με -2 στον τόνο του χρώματος. Αν αφεθεί στις εργοστασιακές τότε απλά βγαίνουν πολύ πιο ζωηρές οι εκτυπώσεις και ίσως 2000 σελίδες λιγότερες
Το μόνο αρνητικό είναι πως η εγκατάσταση είναι λίγο ανάποδη. Δεν είναι δύσκολη αλλά πρέπει να κάτσεις να δεις τι πρέπει να επιλέξεις, δεν είναι σαν τους HP, Canon που πατάς Next -> Next -> ρυθμίζεις το δίκτυο-> Νext.
Τέλος δεν ξέρω πια η αντοχή στον χρόνο και τι προβλήματα/ζημίες μπορεί να βγάλει. Θα επανέλθω αν βγάλει πρόβλημα ή σε κανά 6άμηνο.
