Specifications
This book, From the Quarry to the Parthenon, describes the amazing way in which the Greeks of the 5th century BC managed to solve the technological problems presented by the construction of the Acropolis.
We follow here the journey of a 12-ton marble capital from its extraction in the quarry of Penteli to its arrival at the plateau of the Sacred Rock.
The detailed illustrations that accompany the text help us imagine how the vision of the Athenians became a reality.
