Description

80 Plus Bronze Certification

The efficiency of your power supply is important because it directly affects your system's performance and your electricity bill. The efficiency rating does not reflect the quality or reliability of a power supply. It only reflects the unit's ability to transfer energy from the wall to your components. The higher the efficiency of a power supply, the lower the total amount of power needed to run your system. The MWE Bronze series has an 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency rating, which means it has a guaranteed typical efficiency of 85%.

DC to DC Circuit

Power is supplied at multiple voltage levels. The wall provides power at one voltage level, but your components need a specific voltage to operate correctly. The process of converting raw power from the wall to the multiple voltage levels your components need requires specialized components to complete this process quickly, efficiently, and safely. The MWE Bronze's DC-to-DC + LLC technology was meticulously created to achieve this goal. The Dual Forward circuit design is engineered to convert 12V power to 3V and 5V levels with minimal ripple noise, 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency, and reduced risk to your connected hardware.

Silent Operation

The ongoing battle between cooling and noise is as old as the consumer computer industry itself. Keeping your components cool without having to hear them while you work remains one of the biggest challenges for all fan-based cooling technologies. The MWE Bronze addresses this issue with a 120 mm HDB fan. The fan's hydrodynamic bearing creates less friction, making it ideal for low-speed operations. This technology keeps the fan running smoothly and efficiently for a longer period, maintaining low noise levels and extending the power supply's lifespan.

Flat, Black Cables

For many who have aesthetics in mind, cabling can be one of the most annoying parts of assembling a computer. Cables can be confusing, too short or too long, and almost never look good. The MWE Bronze uses flat and flexible black cables to help address these issues. These cables are more discreet and flexible, making them easier to install in your system while taking up less space. This is especially useful for smaller cases and maintaining airflow.

System Protection

The processes required by a power supply unit to receive power directly from the wall or another stable power source, convert it to the correct output needed by the connected components, and then distribute the power to those components safely can be fraught with risks. That is why it is important for a power supply to have the correct protections and regulations to ensure this process is carried out properly.

The active power factor correction of the MWE Bronze uses a specialized circuit to correct the power factor, leading to reduced overall harmonics, corrected AC input voltage, and increased overall output efficiency.

Protection Technologies

The MWE provides full standard protection (OCP/OVP/UVP/SCP/OPP) as well as built-in overheating protection (OTP). These additional safety measures minimize the risk of damage to your system from power interruptions.

Connections:

  • 1x ATX 20 + 4-pin motherboard power connector.
  • 1x EPS/ATX12V 8 Pin (4+4) CPU power connector.
  • 2x PCIe 6+2 graphics card power connectors, to take advantage of modern GPUs in combination with your PC's capabilities.
  • 6x SATA power connectors for SSD or HDD hard drives.
  • 3x Molex 4-pin connectors for additional peripherals.
  • 1x Floppy connector.

This review is about the power: 500 W

For the price, it seems fair, but the packaging I received did not have a box. The power supply was inside a cardboard box with "bubbles" as shown in the picture. It's the first time I see something like this. Otherwise, it works and time will tell for further

A quiet power supply, so quiet that I eventually felt sad that my Corsair VS 650 didn't break earlier so I could replace it with this one years ago! Even though a 500-watt power supply powers a system with an RX 580 perfectly fine without any issues.
