Samos Nectar is one of the best wines in the world, made from overripe, sun-dried grapes that age for 6 years in oak barrels.
Its color is deep amber, with beautiful orange highlights. On the nose, aromas of raisins, dried fruits, honey, and nuts prevail. Good acidity, long aftertaste with notes of smoke. It oscillates between aromas of raisins, plums, and roasted cinnamon, while the taste presents elements of butterscotch, raisins, walnuts, ripe orange, and even clove, intertwined with sweetness and "dressed" with an amazing minerality that gives a completely new dimension to sweet sun-dried wines.
In the mouth, it reserves an unexpected freshness that can ensure a starring role at the table. At the right temperature (12-14 C), Samos Nectar takes control of the palate and sends it on a journey between intense aromas and full, mature sweetness.
It composes a harmonious and powerful ensemble that can easily accompany rich sweet and sour dishes (e.g., wild boar with quince, duck with orange, etc.), "strong" sweets such as baklava and walnut pie, chocolate and caramel desserts, or with roasted nuts. It also pairs with intense cheeses like stilton (blue and white), aged kefalograviera, and various smoked cheeses.
