In no case is it recommended for children. A child cannot, while being sick, wait motionless for more than 5 minutes that it takes to beep

I have tried many thermometers. It is the only one that is repeatable. Every time I compared it with the pediatrician's, there was very little deviation. The only downside is that it is slow.

I have had it for over 8 years and now that it has started to not work properly I am thinking of getting the same one. The readings are a bit lower than mercury thermometers, as is the case with most digitals, but without a large deviation.

I have had it for a few months and I use it every day, many times a day, for a bedridden patient. The thermometer has proven to be extremely accurate, as compared to an old mercury one, it does not deviate more than 0.2 degrees. ATTENTION: Many stores incorrectly report that it is a "one-minute" thermometer, which is absolutely wrong. Most users do not bother to read the instructions (even professional nurses I have seen take it out in one minute) and thus see incorrect readings. In the manual, as shown in the photos I am attaching, it clearly states that for an accurate measurement from the armpit, ten (10) minutes are required. Yes, it is tiring to wait that long, but that is how a correct measurement is made.

I tried the Omron eco basic thermometer alongside an old mercury thermometer.
The Omron showed 36.8 (beep) while the mercury showed 37.5.
Both were used orally. They say that orally is the best way.
Since I didn't have a fever, the mercury wasn't accurate, and the idea that it lasts forever is probably a myth. Also, mercury is dangerous and very difficult to capture in a photograph.
I will probably get another digital one so I can have a second measurement.
The Omron is not exactly fast, but it showed correctly and that's what matters.
The good thing about the digital one is that you can see in the mirror when it's rising, so you know you have to wait.

Terrible... initially, the organic thermometer is giving us trouble... the indicator just won't go down no matter what... Now everyone started buying these electronic ones... and they are all over the place. I hope we will solve the issue in the next decade

What are you guys saying, that you can't find batteries.. if you just type in the search of Skroutz: "LR41" it gives you a long list with a variety of batteries and stores!

It is not particularly accurate in measurements, but it does not have a huge deviation either. After about a year of use, we have noticed that it shows slightly higher (about half a degree) compared to mercury-gallium. It is not fast. It is good to have as a compass when it is not easy to use mercury or you do not want to wait 5 minutes with gallium.

It looks good, you just have to leave it for 3 to 5 minutes to have an accurate measurement.
There is no notification, or at least it doesn't work on mine.

After 2 years of use, I now have an opinion because it is the 5th in a row that I have bought and tried so far none of them except this one gave me accurate indications, they always had a difference of about 1.5 degrees. I highly recommend it to you!

So, since it takes at least 5 minutes for accurate measurement (as most of you say), why don't you buy a galium thermometer to have peace of mind? It costs the same, takes the same amount of time to measure, and doesn't require batteries. And, you know, you can be sure about the result!

I lost it and bought it again. The previous one was very good, this one seems defective to me. I measured it three times and it shows 35.4 in the 2-minute interval it takes. I left it on for longer and the temperature doesn't rise

I have it for over 5 years! In 10'', it measures and finds your temperature... if you keep it for one more minute, it shows 0.2-0.3 higher.
I put it under my tongue with my mouth closed... It has a problem in the armpit...

I received it today and contrary to the negative comments, I compared it with a mercury thermometer and it had accurate measurements. The time is average, however, I overlook it since it gives correct numbers.

It seemed good but it shows incorrect measurements, meaning it gets stuck at one temperature and then after a few seconds it goes up by 10 units, meaning where it told me 37.7, it stuck at 2 minutes and went up to 39. I put another thermometer on the child and it said 37.7, I closed it and put the Omicron one again and it showed me 37.7!! It's a shame for the company, I thought it was reliable

It is very good, it is user-friendly and provides accurate measurement, but unfortunately I cannot find LR41 batteries that do not show as L (Low) on its screen, causing it to shut down and preventing me from using it again.

It delays incredibly in measurements. It takes more than 5 minutes for the characteristic sound to be heard.

The only negative aspect is the significant delay in measurement. Otherwise, it is accurate, reliable, and of high quality construction.

You can't find a replacement battery. A big well-known chain with batteries even for helicopters... unfortunately, they don't have for a thermometer.

Quite a good thermometer. It has a deviation of about -0.3 degrees (lower) compared to the analog one, which I trust more when there is a fever (at normal body temperature, not).
For accurate measurement, the minimum programmed time is not enough. In my own tests in axillary measurement, it takes ~8.5 minutes to obtain the most accurate measurement it can, closer to the measurements of a branded analog thermometer.

I bought this device knowing that there is a reputation that any electronic measurement with thermometer or blood pressure devices faces a relative deviation from the actual values. Checking this reputation myself, I found that the temperature measurement from my armpit gave me 35 degrees Celsius, while at the same time the temperature measurement from my mouth gave me 36.4. If a device, at the same time, has a deviation of 1.5 units, you understand that we are not talking about device reliability or measurement accuracy. And so, with concise procedures, we end up with the traditional, slow but accurate and respectable way of measuring temperature with classic thermometers.

I measured it with a caliper at the same time and the measurements were exactly the same. I left the caliper for 5 minutes and removed the Omron at the first beep (around 40 seconds)

No one in Greece ever reads the instructions... If you read them, you would see that it takes 5 minutes to show the correct temperature, not as soon as it beeps. If you leave it for 5 minutes under your armpit, it shows very accurately, I compared it with a mercury thermometer, and it showed exactly the same. It's not fast obviously, but it does its job

Previously, I had bought similar ones at half the price, but due to their condition, the price exceeded €5. Like all Omron devices, it is a reference tool. It gives the same number as a mercury one in 1 minute (don't get the faster one because it's not faster). It also keeps the memory of the last measurement

I think this thermometer has been unfairly reviewed. Giving it 2 or 3 stars and saying that it is not suitable for babies because it takes longer to measure (in essence, it takes slightly less time than a mercury thermometer), but that the measurements are reliable. Who said it was for babies and for quick measurement and judged it as such? There is another Omron model that also includes a baby in the packaging and claims to be specifically for quick measurement for babies. Of course, it also costs twice as much. This little thermometer is great. Very good build quality and easy to use. It beeps in 2 minutes and you're done. Compared to a glass mercury thermometer, it gives me the same readings.

It is accurate in measurements, but it takes a long time for the beep to sound, about 2-3 minutes. Therefore, it is unsuitable for babies unless it is placed in the rectum.
