The comic "Zagor - The Beginning" [Zagor. Le Origini, January 2019], written by Moreno Burattini and illustrated by Maurizio Di Vincenzo and Valerio Piccioni, is the first of the six total chapters that aim to delve into and enrich the past of the King of Darkwood. In addition to the information we already knew, new elements are added that reveal unknown events and introduce characters we have never met before. Specifically, the story focuses on the massacre of Clear Water (the river through which Zagor was saved by Fiji), as well as the tragic secret past of Mike Wilding (Zagor's father), dating back to the period when he was an officer in the US Army. The comic is accompanied by a 12-page feature that includes character analysis, information about all the hero's origin stories, as well as many rare sketches.
