I have been wearing Teva models for 20 years. Mainly for nature excursions and holidays, but also sometimes in the city. Over these years, I have noticed a significant "decline" in build quality, mainly in terms of durability over time. The first pair lasted over 10 years, the second about 6, and I replaced the third after 2 summers. This is the 4th.
Why do I keep coming back? They are incredibly comfortable. They adjust very conveniently. They don't slip anywhere. They are very good for trails/excursions (I have comfortably hiked Samaria Gorge 3 times with Teva). And, since I have a wide, flipper-like foot, they are comfortable for my foot shape. Of course, they don't have particularly durable soles on rocks (the somewhat sharp ones, not the rounded ones); for that, a special hiking shoe is better.
HOWEVER
Apart from the reduced durability in the newer models, as I mentioned (let's say it's a general decline due to cost-cutting/ profit maximization, etc.), in this purchase, even though it is exactly the same model and size as the last one two years ago (that one had leather straps, this one has fabric), I noticed that they have slightly narrowed the fit. They are still comfortable, but maybe a bit more borderline.
For these reasons, I deduct one star. If I only used them casually in the city (I would probably choose a more economical model anyway), I think they would deserve 5 stars. This is a recent purchase, and I hope I won't have to deduct another star / regret it down the line.
If you are borderline in size, try half a size up (now), just to be sure.
