• Immunodeficiencies, which analyze the eight major groups of primary immunodeficiencies and secondary immunodeficiencies.
• Autoimmune diseases, which examine representative systemic autoimmune diseases of particular significance, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, and systemic vasculitides, and analyze the two most representative organ-specific autoimmune diseases, type I diabetes and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Additionally, significant associated diseases (atherosclerosis, autoimmune cytopenias, lung disease, miscarriages) are described.
• Finally, the chapter on Diagnostic Immunology focuses on the immunological laboratory diagnostic approach in clinical practice, particularly for systemic autoimmune diseases and vasculitis syndromes. Furthermore, to assist the reader in becoming familiar with immunological terms, the edition is accompanied by a glossary of terms and concepts, making the work a functional and well-organized manual.
