The ELAC Miracord 60 Gloss Black / Aluminium is a high-fidelity (Hi-Fi) manual turntable with a belt-drive system, designed to deliver accurate sound reproduction while minimizing mechanical resonance. Based on the architecture of the iconic Miracord series, it features a sturdy 55 mm-thick solid MDF plinth finished in glossy black lacquer (Gloss Black), with a brushed aluminium front panel. The straight carbon-fibre/aluminium tonearm is mounted on a high-precision bearing system and features a removable headshell with a bayonet connection. The turntable is equipped with a quiet DC motor with an optical speed-control sensor, a heavy-duty 22 mm-thick aluminium platter, and gold-plated RCA connectors to ensure the quality of the analogue signal.

Sturdy MDF Cabinet & Vibration-Resistant Construction

The base of the ELAC Miracord 60 is made from a single piece of high-density MDF, 55 mm thick, which effectively absorbs internal resonances and acoustic feedback from the surroundings. The exterior is finished in glossy black lacquer (Gloss Black) and complemented by a solid aluminum insert on the front. The unit rests on specially designed vibration-damping feet that isolate the turntable from external vibrations.

Belt-Drive System & Optical PID Sensor

Motion is transmitted via a precision belt that wraps around the underside of the platter. The quiet DC motor is continuously monitored by an integrated optical sensor (PID-controlled optical sensor), which measures the platter’s actual rotational speed and makes instantaneous electronic adjustments, ensuring stable speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 RPM without fluctuations.

22 mm Aluminum Platter & High-Precision Bearing Spindle

The platter is made from die-cast aluminium, 22 mm thick and weighing 2.1 kg, providing high rotational inertia. It features internal damping material to eliminate resonance. The spindle is made from hardened 8 mm steel and sits in a bronze bearing with gold-plated bearing balls, ensuring low friction and quiet operation.

Aluminum / Carbon Fiber Tonearm & Adjustment Options

The 9-inch straight tonearm uses an aluminum tube reinforced with carbon fiber, achieving high rigidity and low effective mass. It features a removable aluminum headshell with a Bayonet quick-connect system, making it easy to install and change cartridges. It offers full adjustability, including tracking force and anti-skating settings, as well as vertical tracking angle (VTA) and azimuth adjustment.
