I'd start by saying that virtually none of us needs BCAA supplements at all. Most legendary bodybuilders have never even had access to one, and out of those who had, many consider it an utter waste of money. Most consumers take BCAA because of marketing, or hoping to cut shortcuts while they don't follow the book. Be reminded that BCAA ain't a magic powder, and there's nothing here that a primal diet won't get you.

With that covered, I personally like to keep it stocked to boost hydration, since I am not always in the mood to gulp in liters of plain water. The extra amino acids here are taken strictly as nice-to-haves, on top of a religious 160–175g protein per day diet coming from varied natural sources. I've been logging my food by the gram since 2011 using MyFitnessPal, now using MacroFactor for its better UI/UX.

I typically take Battery Nutrition's BCAA (containing 77% l-leucine, l-isoleucine, and l-valine by weight, without other fillers), however, due to global shortage, I had to find an alternative. This product by DY appears to offer one of the better values in the market right now for BCAA (despite being mixed with citrulline malate, beta-alanine and l-tyrosine, which are not BCAAs). If you trust the label, it's genuinely packed with leucine, alongside additional well-studied amino acids as mentioned. The peach flavor that I took is satisfying (does not feel artificial) and is not overly sweet. Having said that, I am a little skeptical on the leucine content. If you've ever tried unflavored BCAA with high leucine content, you know how extremely bitter and impossible to mask leucine can get, even when added at minute amounts. This product contains 50% pure leucine by weight, yet, it tastes and smells nothing like. Unlike some leading brands, DY does *not* offer any 3rd-party lab verification for their products despite being a very minor expense for a global brand, so... take it with a grain of salt.

Lastly, a little over a year ago, the company switched to a new packaging design containing multiple security measures to fight a growing DY counterfeit market. The product I received does *not* contain any of those, however, it remains genuine as per manufacturer inspection. I believe it's good to be aware of counterfeits and the measures to detect them. For more information, Google "DY Nutrition security measures".

Overall, I give it 3/5, ranking it positively for its flavor, formula, and price. 3rd-party lab verifications would help take it to a solid 5. Thanks for reading!
