Review this product
  • After 10 years as the owner of the F-550 Hurricane with a Honda engine, I am sharing my experience using it on a 12-acre olive field. It is a small, lightweight, and flexible machine. It cuts weeds as follows: in the lower position of the front leg for shorter weeds, e.g., up to 40 cm, and in the upper position for taller and denser ones. If you lift it up, it can cut very tall grass, but it struggles. It has sometimes accidentally hit wood and stones but has not suffered any damage. Like all machines, it requires you not to be reckless or completely inexperienced. The technique is: I first clear my field of stones, wood, wires, and trash so that when I cut weeds, I don't have problems. The disadvantage for me is the cutting speed (one acre per hour) and the inability to adjust the handlebar left or right; the advantage is its flexibility (it gets in and cleans around the tree trunks and you can pull it back very easily without changing gears). I keep up with its annual service and basic cleaning, and the only issues have been a broken blade drive belt due to my own fault and the clutch cable twice. Value for money.

  • This machine requires a clean field without stones and wood. Otherwise, it is a machine that gets the job done effortlessly in at least 1/3 of the time compared to a backpack brush cutter.

It doesn't have enough power, it stops immediately in thick grass. Also, if the blade gets stuck due to a stone or wood, it will incur damage of about €450. It is not suitable at all for fields. Only for weeds in a garden.
