Compared to other battery brands, these do not drain when not in use. I have a hearing aid which I use rarely because I also have a cochlear implant in the other ear. The problem I had with other battery brands was that they would drain without using the hearing aid, but with Rayovac batteries I don't have such an issue because they only drain when I actually use the hearing aid
