Dear student,

This particular book aims to help you meet the requirements of the writing exercises included in the school book of Modern Greek Language for the 2nd Grade of Junior High School.

Following the material of the school book and the development topics it suggests, we considered it good to include the following in this aid:
- Information on concepts and phenomena examined by the school book, aiming to provide you with a more comprehensive understanding of them.
- Vocabulary tables where definitions, synonyms, antonyms, and related words to the topic of each unit are given, accompanied by relevant exercises.
- Developed topics and paragraphs where you can observe the organization of thought and get ideas to construct your own text.
- Texts with exercises to familiarize you with different types of written discourse, from which you can also draw information related to the writing topics.
- Evaluation criteria that provide you with opportunities for self-action.
- Theory related to the paragraph, descriptive and narrative discourse, argumentative texts, and the organization of the summary.

Finally, following the practice of the school manual of Modern Greek Language, which aims to familiarize the student with different types of written discourse (e.g., letter, article, etc.), many of the texts we develop are written in a similar form.

This book will enhance your effort to learn to handle written discourse and will give you some directions and stimuli to produce your own texts in a critical and creative way.
