These lawnmowers contain nylon thread and a disc, so you can choose the component you want depending on the task. 2. Nylon thread lawnmowers have a string-like thread at the head and are ideal for cutting grass and weeds. The thread can often be cut during use (collision with the ground/stones) but can be replaced. 3. Disc lawnmowers are suitable for more demanding tasks (coarse grass, bushes, and small branches). It is not suitable for short grass as any collision with the ground/stones will wear out the disc.

High-performance battery-powered brush cutter, equipped with ADT technology. ADT technology provides automatic adjustment of speed and torque according to the load, while AFT technology protects the operator by automatically shutting down the machine in case it detects a sudden decrease in speed, e.g., if the disc comes into contact with an object. It features 3-speed settings and a variable speed trigger, while the reverse rotation function ensures quick and easy removal of grass clippings (brush cutter head).

An expensive tool for this job, but you don't buy such a tool every day. So, I bought it in installments and did quite a bit of work with it. To have longevity in your work, you also need a second pair of batteries.
There might be cheaper solutions with these capabilities, but Makita is Makita.

The tool is amazing, it has nothing to envy from a gas-powered one. In various 80cm grass, tested with 2 genuine 5Ah batteries, with a 4.3+2.4mm string, barely 10 minutes of autonomy, with the plastic blades 30 minutes but at a very slow cutting rate. You need 3 pairs of batteries and double charging to get the job done. For small areas, it's just right.

Very powerful machine. It has three speeds and I usually use it on the second one. I haven't found anything it can't do compared to gasoline-powered ones. It comes in the package with a trimmer head, three plastic blades (something between a trimmer head and a disc, which has been very convenient for me), and a disc. I haven't timed how long the batteries last because they run out before you get tired. Of course, I don't have the genuine ones. I have bought bigger ones from eBay. Two pairs of batteries (9ah). Each battery costs about 60 euros and the charger costs 40 euros. Its main advantages, compared to gasoline-powered ones, are that it starts immediately, doesn't smell of gas, is quiet (almost), has lower operating costs, and I imagine maintenance costs as well (because I haven't had it for a long time)

Incredibly powerful but with all the known benefits of the battery. It has been tested in extreme conditions on very tall and tough grass and did not sweat. However, its power relatively quickly consumes the battery. About 20 minutes with nylon cord and almost 30 minutes with the blade (5Ah). I believe that in more normal conditions it will last much longer. To enjoy the work, you definitely need a second set of batteries. The ADT feature that automatically adjusts speed and torque is very useful.
