Replace the first Amazfit Bip, which had served me well.
In the first 20 days, I have managed quite well, the screen customization is a plus, but that's about it.
The new Zepp app is difficult and overloaded without an obvious reason, although the data was transferred easily from the Mi Fit (the app supported by the previous version).
The GPS still hasn't improved, even though the app shows that there has been an upgrade, the watch displays a failure signal. I will come back regarding accuracy, if and when...
Overall, it is nice, convenient, at a very good price for what it offers, others have already mentioned clarity, battery life, etc. I would like to be more enthusiastic, but it hasn't won me over yet...

UPDATE: The device proved to be faulty in terms of GPS, the store was kind enough to take it back - with a small additional charge, I ended up with the Amazfit GTS.

Very difficult to connect to the mobile. It does not connect at all with the Mi Fit application.
It only connected with difficulty with the Zepp application (formerly Amazfit).

I had the regular one and I got the S mainly for waterproofing. Basically, I didn't see big differences in measurements, although the GPS locks a few seconds faster and the accuracy in distances is the same for both, and both are good. The heart rate sensor finds the pulses a little faster with somewhat better accuracy, especially in sudden sprint changes. The screen has better black compared to the washed-out one of the old model and better colors, but outside in the sun, it is a bit darker, obviously not as reflective in the sun as the old one. The menu, to be honest, I like more on the old one because on the small screens they have, it is more readable with large icons, while on the new one, they squeezed in many settings. The downside is that they removed the pressure sensor that showed the altitude, obviously the waterproofing required it, as such a sensor that is waterproof increases the cost. Overall, it is good just like the old one, that's why they have the same prices.

Everything is perfect (GPS meter, GPS tracking, heart rate measurement) except for the clarity of the screen, which could be better without being dysfunctional. At 60 euros, I believe it is the best choice.

Summary: Excellent Value for Money, if you need an affordable GPS running watch with a heart rate monitor and don't have high expectations for extra features, it stands on its own.

I wanted a watch with relatively accurate GPS and heart rate monitor and a clear screen in the sun for running, and the Bip S perfectly met my needs. It doesn't have the "advanced" features of other running watches (VO2 Max, Ant+, on-board maps, music storage), but to be fair, it costs only 1/5 of a Garmin that has all those features. The only strange omission is the lack of a barometric altimeter, especially since the previous Bip had it, but for me, it's not a deal-breaker. The app (Amazfit) is acceptable and syncs with Strava. Its construction material is plastic with Gorilla Glass on the front, it looks very well-made, although it's too early to judge its durability.

It does the basics very well: its screen is very clear in bright sunlight and constantly displays running data (but also the time in general mode), reminding me of my favorite pebble. The GPS works great (in a 7-kilometer run with parallel recording on my phone using Komoot, the distance deviation was 30 meters, which is acceptable and within GPS error limits), and the heart rate monitor seems accurate (I don't have an absolute comparison measure here, but at least the zones it gave me "felt" correct). In cycling, the distance deviation was also around 20-40 meters compared to the recording on Komoot and the bike computer for a 13-kilometer route, so no complaints there either. Its battery is also the best I've seen for such a device. I opened it as soon as I bought it without charging it, and it had 65% battery. Five days later, with firmware updates, two runs, one bike ride, and continuous heart rate monitoring every minute, the battery is at 28%! Finally, despite the lack of a barometer, it records altitude through GPS (although I don't consider it particularly accurate, as GPS is designed with an emphasis on locating in the x and y axes and less on the z axis).

I don't consider its negatives as negatives for this price range: its transflective LCD screen doesn't have the colors of an OLED, but for a sports watch, clarity in all conditions is essential, so this isn't even considered a negative (personally, I consider its presence necessary for such watches), and I'm not surprised at all that it doesn't have VO2 Max and Ant+ given its price. In cycling, the heart rate monitor gave completely inaccurate values, but this is a known issue with all optical wrist-based heart rate monitors (if you need accurate heart rate readings in cycling, the only solution is an Ant+ chest strap). Overall, if you want an affordable, lightweight watch with reliable sensors and long battery life for running, it's the best option I can think of in this price range.

  • Summary: Excellent Value for Money, if you need an affordable GPS running watch with a heart rate monitor and don't have high expectations for extra features, it stands on its own.
