    The thermometer that arrived is not the one in the first photo but the one in the third... The letters are very small and through the oven glass they are very hard to see. It takes a long time to rise in temperature but this is not such a problem since the food cooks for quite a while...

It is accurate, and practical as it hangs directly on the grill right behind the oven door glass. Easy to read, and made out of solid metal that won't break easily at first sight.
