THE CREATION
Eau d'Hermès is the first fragrance from the house of Hermès. It was designed in 1951 by perfumer Edmond Roudnitska and evokes "the inside of a Hermès bag where the scent of a perfume is diffused."
THE OLFACTORY NOTES
A citrus and spicy fragrance, Eau d'Hermès is an eau de toilette in which the intensity of petitgrain and the emerging energy of cardamom are combined with the warmth of cinnamon.
THE OBJECT
Inspired by the lanterns of past automobiles, the bottle is completed with a black cap reminiscent of a rider's helmet. A sign that it belongs to the Parfums-Fondateurs collection, the label on the back bears a design by Philippe Dumas.

The Parfums-Fondateurs collection draws its inspiration from the heritage of the house. Each creation gathers Hermès' imagination into a name, a scent, and a color. Over the years, Hermès has made history in bold perfumery, born from encounters with exceptional perfumers. In 1951, Edmond Roudnitska created Eau d’Hermès, the house's first fragrance. It draws its inspiration from the memory of a wonderful scent full of sensuality: "The inside of a Hermès bag from which the scent of a perfume emanates... A discreet note of fine leather with fresh citrus and the intensity of spices," the creator said at the time. A historical narrative with inspiration stemming from the tradition and culture of the house, aimed at both men and women. A strong yet sensual writing.
