With the "Concert Studies" a cycle of pedagogical - and not only - books for the guitar is completed, which started with the series "Recital 1" up to "10". These four books contain the "foundations" of Guitar Art and the basic teaching of the great teachers who have given the guitar the position it holds today. They start from older composers, such as F. Sor and F. Carulli, and end with younger ones, such as J. Sagreras and A. Barrios.
The title of the collection ("Concert Studies") is not accidental. The majority of the studies you will find here have a melodic character and can therefore be presented as concert pieces. However, they do not cease to be studies, primarily with pedagogical value and role.
The classification of the studies was based on their level of difficulty, so that each of these books corresponds to a music school level (No. 1 - Preliminary, No. 2 - Lower, No. 3 - Middle, No. 4 - Upper). For this reason, the studies of a composer are published here scattered. Thus, according to the logic of these books, the studies of M. Carcassi or F. Sor, for example, which start from the level of the Lower and reach that of the Upper, are listed each in a different series and in a different book.
Of course, it was not possible to include in this collection all the studies of the selected composers. Therefore, those that - in our opinion - are the most beautiful musically but also the most useful pedagogically were included.
An effort was also made to make the fingerings of both hands as simple and understandable as possible.
