Arbutus honey has a peculiar bittersweet taste and crystallizes quickly.

It contains the substance Arbutin which cleanses the blood and regulates cholesterol levels in it. It contains natural antibiotic substances in a higher percentage than other honeys, making it a protective shield for the body against various diseases.

It contains the polysaccharide, tyranose, which has been experimentally proven to increase the lifespan of cells. It contains the enzyme diastase or amylase, which breaks down starch. Globally, it is called the honey of the century because it is rarely produced “almost every 100 years” on the island of Corsica in France and is exclusively exported to wealthy Arab countries. In Greece, we produce it almost every year in the Peloponnese and Halkidiki, and it is a particularly invigorating food for humans and bees. Because it has low sugar content, it is also good for diabetics.
