    Having used both pre-shave oil, I believe there is a difference depending on what each person is looking for. With Proraso, there is not the lubrication that the oil provides. However, you feel that you are getting a closer shave and with fewer passes than needed with the oil. Although with Proraso, it seems that the blade does not glide well, no irritation occurs in a strange way. Also, as an aftershave, it is quite good. In other words, it does not have the pleasant properties of an oil but offers a closer shave.
