Every material, liquid, solid, or gas, expands when heated and contracts when cooled. In plumbing systems, the water that continuously circulates heats and cools, leading to continuous expansion and contraction. When the water expands, the volume in liters increases, and the additional liters will increase the pressure to dangerous levels. At this point, the expansion tank intervenes, which is responsible for storing the additional liters created after expansion.

It features a special membrane ensuring the water is potable. It is installed horizontally and requires slightly more space compared to a vertical tank.

The selection of the correct tank size depends on various factors, such as the total water content of the installation, the system pressure, the total height of the installation, etc. Before purchasing, it is preferable to consult a specialized engineer for the best solution.
