After some time, despite very few hours of use, it has disappointed me. I have it at my holiday home. As of today, when I’m writing this, it has 30 hours of use.
Let’s start with the positives. Lots of connectivity options: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, headphone output, digital audio output and RCA input; Android TV 14, which I don’t think will ever be updated again, but that happens with most brands. The picture is almost excellent for the price. Good sound and a nice, acceptable design.
Now for the downsides. The hybrid TV suddenly disappears. It needs to be restarted. I thought my internet connection was to blame, but I upgraded it, so that’s not it. The Wi-Fi doesn’t disconnect. Some functions, such as turning off the picture, don’t always work, for example when you’re listening to a radio programme. Then you have to unplug it and turn it back on. The worst and most disappointing thing is the sudden restarts. I should mention that this was happening from the first few days, but I thought it had just happened by chance. The TV isn’t loaded with apps, just the ones it came with. Fortunately, Netflix works without any problems, as does watching the channels. The remote control response is slow, which is understandable given the heavy Android system and 1 GB of RAM. After a little while, once it’s turned on, its operation becomes smoother. From other sites I’ve read, people conclude that all TVs in this category made at the Vestel factory have the same problems. Similarly, I had bought another white-label TV from a Greek company that was even more problematic, as it would also lose the channel memory. Fortunately, they replaced it with one from a more reputable brand. I overlook everything else; if it weren’t for the unpredictable restart problem, I’d give it four stars. Because of the unpredictable restarts, I can’t give it more than one. It’s also used by elderly people who can’t be expected to deal with the various menus; they want to press the button and see the channel they want.
I’m posting this review as a record, since the TV is no longer available for sale. Anyone buying a TV of any brand, even the most well-known one, if it’s manufactured by Vestel, should be careful. If it isn’t a Smart TV, there’s no issue, but with Smart TVs, there is.
