It would be good to put a bracket somewhere and secure it to the wall though (I lifted the front legs a bit but it's not the safest). The wood is this darker "Chinese" beige, in contrast to the traditional yellowish. Overall a decent purchase. There is a lot of screwing, I used an electric screwdriver.
