Description & Specifications

I must repeat for the Iliad what I wrote in my preface for the Odyssey, that it is indeed an epic of war from a different era, with different customs, traditions, and habits.

I must mention that our language, since the time of the Trojan War or Homer's time—at least since the period when the epics were recorded (the 8th or 7th century B.C.)—remains the same, with its natural evolution and changes. These have, thanks to the nearly universal education of today's youth, greatly improved from the populism and extremes of the early part of the last century.

Thus, I have attempted to create a rendition of the Iliad in today's colloquial language so that it can be read pleasantly by the general public, regardless of education, without distorting the Homeric epic, because the Homeric epics are unparalleled and unique among the millions of literary masterpieces by the great writers and thinkers of humanity, with their 15,693 verses in the ancient text.
