It is well-documented today that the benefits a child and future adult gain from a creative music education are not limited to musical development and the acquisition of musical skills, but primarily focus on fostering imagination, emotional and social development, as well as enhancing cognitive skills.

This book serves as an introduction to Music Pedagogy and is aimed at music educators and teachers in preschool and primary education, both candidates and in-service professionals. It is divided into two parts: Theoretical and Experiential.

The first part addresses issues related to the theoretical aspects of Music Pedagogy. Alongside the theoretical framework, there is a presentation of contemporary proposals and ideas that have been applied in practice regarding music education.

Based on original songs, exercises, and instrumental compositions in the Experiential (second) part, activities for music listening, performance, and creation are proposed, which constitute the three main axes of musical expression. The goal of these activities is a multidimensional approach to music lessons, enabling students to form their own opinion and aesthetic understanding of music, both as listeners and as performers and creators.

Aiming to connect language, music, visual arts, and dramatic expression, eleven of the songs are thematically unified, creating a musical story. Students have the opportunity to present it as a musical theater performance, where they narrate the texts, sing, and dramatize the songs.

The book is accompanied by an electronic folder containing the original musical material from the book to facilitate studying and carrying out the activities, as well as digital sheet music of the original songs in the book, arranged for two-part choir and small musical ensembles.
