If you apply transparent anti-mold silicone on the suction cup, it will never come off and it will remain functional.

The suction cup does not work properly. After one month, it cannot even lift the weight of the plastic base without the sponge. I have placed it on the side of the refrigerator, on the desk (smooth surface). I do not recommend it, unless you do not need the suction cup. The color and sturdiness are okay for the 1 euro I bought it for.
