Resistance near the sea
The external casing of the solar water heater is made of 0.5mm galvanized steel, with electrostatic polyester paint on both sides particularly resistant to ultraviolet rays, humid climates, and coastal areas. Its unique design provides double the mechanical strength to the external casing of the tank.
Does not freeze
The innovative design of the jacket for the closed circuit it features guarantees its stable operation even in freezing conditions and at the same time ensures the collectors are protected from the risk of clogging due to salts.
Ensures more hot water for the winter
The strong 50mm thick polyurethane insulation with a high density of 40kg/m³ ensures more hot water for use even if the outside temperature is 30ºC below zero.
Tank
The water storage tank features an internal enamel coating, which covers the interior of the tank at every point and results from the application of enamel (glass) onto metal. This ensures that it is protected from rust, as the water does not come into contact with the walls, thus always ensuring clean drinking water.
Tank technical specifications
- Armored tank made of low carbon steel DCP-DC/03 with a thickness of 2.5mm. The enameling of the tanks is done with liquid enamel coating of 500 μg thickness at a baking temperature of 850°C according to the German standard (DIN 51032 & EN 1388-2) which is considered the number one protection in hard water for long life.
- External casing galvanized steel 0.5mm with electrostatic polyester paint (RAL 9006) with special anti-corrosion protection for high durability even in coastal areas.
- Strong polyurethane insulation with a thickness of 55mm and a density of 50Kg/m3
- Electric resistance power 4kW. All electrical parts are CE marked according to EN 60335-1 and EN 60335-2-21 standards.
- Automatic, adjustable thermostat with bipolar protection and backup fuse. All electrical parts are CE marked according to EN 60335-1 and EN 60335-2-21 standards.
- Magnesium Anode: For anti-corrosion protection.
- Hot water outlet: 1/2
- Cold water inlet: 1/2
- Closed circuit inlet – outlet: 1/2.
- Safety Valve: 10 bar.
- Coil for triple energy: 1/2
Collector
The collector has a surface area of 2m², capable of producing up to 200 liters of hot water. It is selective, the type most commonly used in solar water heaters in recent years. It has lower heat losses compared to a simple collector, thus offering higher efficiency.
Collector Technical Specifications
-
External one-piece frame made of special alloy pre-coated steel with electrostatic painting on its entire surface, specially designed against corrosion.
Robust Construction – Absolute Sealing – High Aesthetics. - Special safety glass (Tempered) with high transmittance and durability, low iron oxide content (extra clear / Low-iron), resistant to adverse weather conditions (e.g., hail, extreme temperature changes).
- Strong thermal ecological insulation of pre-compressed fiberglass, 30mm thick, coated with black fiberglass fabric, to minimize thermal losses. Thermal conductivity of fiberglass insulation: λ=0.037 W/mK (DIN 56612, measurement at 10°C).
- The return and supply pipes (headers) are perforated with outward expansion, for the absolute fitting of the heat absorption pipes (manifolds) and to avoid pressure drop in the collectors.
Distance between pipes (tube pitch)=105mm. - Unified selective absorber made of selective metal sheet (Sun-Selective, Complete area absorber), with high absorptivity and low emissivity, covering the entire window surface as well as the supply and return pipes, increasing the collector's absorption capacity. The welding is done with state-of-the-art robotic laser technology equipment.
- Collector Absorber: Copper grid type welded with LASER technology with Ø8 tubes.
- Collector Inlets – Outlets: Ø22.
- Collector Orientation: Vertical or Horizontal
- Absorptive surface: High absorptivity PVD Titanium coating.
Triple Energy
It is triple energy, meaning it can operate in three ways: with solar energy, with electric energy, or with hot water from the central heating of the house. This means that inside the water tank there is an electric resistance, as well as a coil through which the hot water from the radiator, produced by the central heating boiler, circulates. Thus, on days with little sunshine due to cloudiness, you can operate your solar water heater either with electric energy or from the boiler, to always have hot water.
Solar Water Heater Maintenance
Regular maintenance of the solar water heater optimizes the quality, hygiene, and operational performance, while also saving on energy consumption. For the smooth operation of the solar water heater, regular maintenance by a specialized team is required. The necessary actions during the maintenance of the solar water heater are:
- Checking the level of solar fluids & refilling where necessary.
- Inspecting and repairing the insulation on the local solar pipes.
- Inspecting and replacing the magnesium anode to prevent the formation of scale inside the solar water heater.
- Inspecting and cleaning the electric resistance.
