I put it in a 12V power supply, which was not working properly and was giving 17V, causing the capacitor to burst. On the other hand, I had a Sunon 12V 1.17W fan.
On the page, it says that it accepts voltages from 1.2V to 37V. I still don't know if it can be considered a buck converter because it uses the LM317, which means it reduces the voltage by converting part of the energy into thermal energy. As the voltage decreases, the efficiency decreases and the temperature increases.

  • I use it to convert 29.7v to 27v with a maximum current of 0.25A. It does a fine job.
