Description

The legendary comic book hero Zagor was created in 1961. His real name is Patrick Wilding, but the Native Americans call him Zagor or Za-Gor-Te-Nay, "The Spirit with the Axe." The story of Zagor is set in the Northeastern part of the United States in the first half of the 19th century, in a swampy, difficult area of the fictional Darkwood Forest in Pennsylvania.

Zagor is the legendary hero of the forests, mountains, and lakes who maintains peace between whites and Native Americans and punishes criminals.

The comic Zagor - The Oath (Zagor- Le Origini #2-3, June-July 2019), written by Moreno Burattini and illustrated by Walter Trono (issue #2) and Giuseppe Candita (issue #3), is the continuation of the new Zagor series, aimed at exploring and enriching the past of the King of Darkwood.

The young Zagor (Pat Wilding) vows at the grave of his parents to take revenge on the Native Americans of the Abenaki tribe and their leader, Salomon Kinski. Thus, he leaves the hut where he was born and raised, along with his mentor, "Wandering Fiji."

The nomad hunter wants to deliver young Pat to someone who can take care of him, as he does not yet feel ready for this mission. Soon, he will change his mind and decide to train young Zagor as a hunter, tracker, and warrior to become a proper and just man! However, Fiji is tormented by his own demons, which involves a secret from the past that led him to choose this solitary life.
