In one word, the best speakers I have ever had for a computer. I use them when I work at home with my Macbook and they are the best if you want an all-around 2.1 system that can comfortably play music, movies, and even games (whenever I feel like it) in a room. The sound is very clear from low volume to their maximum. In terms of volume (regardless of the nominal wattage), they are quite powerful for a room of about 30 square meters. Beyond that, the larger the space, the more it will seem like they lose volume. However, I believe that they will still perform very well in a normal-sized living room, depending on the occasion. If, on the other hand, you want them for a central sound system and to listen throughout the house, or to throw a party, then you should look elsewhere (they are not intended for this use). The bass, for my taste, is more than sufficient. It also has a bass volume adjustment on the subwoofer, so if you increase it from there, I believe it will satisfy even the most demanding listeners (always considering the intended space). The plastic parts are sturdy and seem to be of very good quality construction, definitely not cheap - and this is evident from the beginning. The cables are reinforced with wire (which means they are more durable) and visually match the whole set perfectly.
The only negative point, which for me is significant (and the reason for the 4 stars), is that at very low volume, around 5-6% (which is what I use when I work), they automatically turn off after 2-3 minutes and you have to increase the volume a bit for them to realize that sound is coming and turn back on. After some online research, I read that this is a default setting due to a European directive for power consumption reduction when there is no sound. This setting is embedded in the speakers and cannot be changed from the computer. The only solution is to either listen to them slightly louder (e.g. at 10-12%) or simply sell them :-) Personally, because I am very satisfied compared to my previous Creative speakers (Gigaworks T40) that used to give me a headache after an hour of low volume, I now play them a bit louder than I used to and everything is fine!
In summary, they are a high-quality (in terms of sound and construction) all-around pair of 2.1 speakers for PCs and they will cover whatever you give them to play.
