They consist of two coaxial electrodes, a capacitor, and an RC generator. They respond to metal and non-metallic objects, as the transmission distance for non-metallic objects depends on their dielectric constants. They allow for adjustable detection distance for non-magnetic conductive materials.
They are developed based on PNP and NPN transitions. They have small dimensions and feature a metal cylindrical housing that is resistant to vibrations and a plastic cover that is resistant to oil and water.
