First of all, let me say that I have installed them in an apartment on a nova fiber 500 line. The two units are about 8 meters apart, with a wall in between.
The one next to the router gives me the same speeds as the router.
The second one, with WiFi, loses more than 50% compared to the one next to the router, but it still performs better than the repeater I had, and the PC I connected to the second unit via ethernet gets more than 50% (the same PC with powerline was at 180).
Based on the above, I am satisfied. I expected the WiFi to be a bit better, but considering their cost, they are very good.
Now, time will tell how stable they are.
I should add that the apartment is on the 3rd floor and I get a signal on the ground floor (2 bars), whereas before I had none, so I give it 5 stars
καταρχην να πω ότι τα εχω βαλει σε διαμερισμα πανω σε γραμμη nova fiber 500. Το ενα με το αλλο εχουν αποσταση περίπου 8 μετρα στο περιπου και παρεμβαλεται ενας τοίχος.

Το δεύτερο με wifi χανει περισσότερο απο 50% σε σχεση με αυτο που ειναι στο ρουτερ αλλα παραπανω ομως απο repeater που ειχα και το pc που συνδεσα στο δευτερο με ethernet ειναι πανω απο το 50% το ιδιο pc με powerline ηταν στα 180
Με βαση τα παραπανω ευχαριστημενος ειμαι το περιμενα λιγο καλυτερο το wifi αλλα με βαση το κοστος τους ειναι πολυ καλα.
Τωρα ο χρονος θα δειξει το ποσο σταθερα ειναι

Not for me!! The speed on my router was reaching 90mbps and from the Halo it dropped to 30!! All this with a connection from the router to the first halo with ethernet and the measurements were taken side by side.

And somehow, after its purchase, I unplugged two powerline adapters and two wifi repeaters that were simply not working properly, always with delays. It covers from the upper floor of the apartment to the other side of the lower floor, spanning two floors from end to end. From the 50 mbps that the router outputs with a 50 Mbps connection, it gives me 50.6 Mbps on all wifi connections according to the speedtest. We are saved. I hope it proves to be stable over time.
I believe that one alone is not enough to work properly and one of the two needs to have a wired connection to the router.
Και κάπως έτσι, μετά την αγορά του, ξεκούμπωσα δυο powerline και δύο wifi repeater που απλά μια έπαιζαν, μια δεν έπαιζαν και πάντα με καθυστερήσεις. Πιάνει από τον πάνω όροφο διαμερίσματος μέχρι την άλλη μεριά του κάτω, καλύπτει δύο ορόφους από άκρη σε άκρη. Από 50 mbps που βγάζει το router με 50άρα σύνδεση, μου βγάζει στο speedtest σε όλα τα wifi, παντού 50,6 mbps. Σωθήκαμε. Ελπίζω να αποδειχθεί σταθερό στη διάρκεια του χρόνου.
Ένα μόνο του δεν αρκεί για να δουλέψει σωστά πιστεύω και χρειάζεται το ένα από τα δύο να έχει ενσύρματη σύνδεση στο router.
Let me start with some comments regarding wifi repeaters/ extenders, as the differences between them and wifi mesh/ access points were initially unknown to me and I had to research the topic extensively:
The following are the main characteristics of repeaters/ extenders compared to wifi mesh/ access points:
- Most of them do not have the ability to be wired to an existing wired network. This means that they need to be placed where there is at least a moderate wifi signal strength in order to extend it, thus significantly limiting options in larger spaces.
- Each repeater creates its own wifi network (with a different name from the router), resulting in some mobile devices not automatically switching to the stronger network. For example, while moving away from the router's area to the area covered by the repeater, the mobile device will not switch to the repeater's stronger network unless it loses the router's signal. (Despite my Samsung phone having intelligent wifi function for automatic switching to the stronger network, it did not work in practice). With wifi mesh/ access points, you have one network throughout the space.
- On the positive side, most repeaters can simply be plugged into an outlet without the need for extra power cables.
Now let's specifically discuss the comments about the Halo H30G:
The manufacturing company belongs to TP LINK and they have the same technical support phone number, which was friendly and helpful when I called them. I chose them over similar products from the parent company due to the cost difference. They are small, visually appealing, and lightweight.
The installation as wireless access points seems particularly easy.
On the contrary, the installation as wired access points was troublesome for me, as well as for another reviewer with the Halo H50G. Perhaps this is due to my lack of experience in this area, but regardless, I expected the installation to be more user-friendly.
Do not upgrade the firmware on any unit by itself. Upgrade all of them together. In my case, the third unit with old firmware was not recognized by the network of the other two units that I had upgraded. I solved this by deleting the network of the two units and starting a new network with the unit with old firmware in order to upgrade it as well. The manufacturer provides instructions for upgrading firmware on individual units, but I was not able to apply them.
Contrary to the manufacturer's instructions that in wired access point mode, all units can be directly connected to the router, this connection did not work for me. In order for it to work, the two satellites had to be connected to the central unit (via a switch) and the central unit had to be directly connected to the router (and with another cable to the switch that provides wired internet to all outlets, including the outlets that provide internet to the satellites).
One satellite unit must be initially connected wirelessly (where the wifi signal is strong) and then it can be moved to wherever we want with a wired connection (where there is no wifi signal at all, which was my case).
I renamed the new wireless network created by the Halo H30G (3-pack) to my old network (same name and password), which I disabled from the router. The existing devices automatically connected without a new setup.
After spending 2-3 hours experimenting and burning calories up and down stairs, it eventually works flawlessly with speeds that almost reach the nominal speeds of my internet provider. Considering that my inconvenience is due to my own inexperience and since the devices work as they should, I gave 5 stars. Good luck!
Να ξεκινήσω με κάποια σχόλια συγκριτικά με wifi repeaters/ extenders, μιας και για εμένα οι διαφορές τους από τα wifi mesh/ access points δεν ήταν αρχικά γνωστές και έπρεπε να ψάξω αρκετά το θέμα:
Τα repeaters/ extenders έχουν τα εξής βασικά χαρακτηριστικά σε σχέση με wifi mesh/ access points:
- Τα περισσότερα δεν έχουν δυνατότητα να συνδεθούν ενσύρματα με υπάρχον ενσύρματο δίκτυο. Αυτό σημαίνει ότι πρέπει να τοποθετηθούν εκεί που υπάρχει τουλάχιστον μεσαίας έντασης σήμα wifi, ώστε να το επεκτείνουν, άρα περιορίζονται δραστικά οι επιλογές σε μεγάλους χώρους.
- Κάθε repeater δημιουργεί δικό του wifi δίκτυο (άλλο όνομα από του router) με συνέπεια κάποιες κινητές συσκευές να μην αλλάζουν στο πιο ισχυρό δίκτυο από μόνες τους έγκαιρα. Πχ ενώ απομακρύνεσαι με το κινητό από το χώρο του router στο χώρο που πιάνει το repeater, το κινητό δε θα αλλάξει στο ισχυρό δίκτυο του repeater παρά μόνο αν χάσει το σήμα του router. (Το κινητό μου Samsung παρότι έχει λειτουργία intelligent wifi για αυτόματη εναλλαγή στο πιο ισχυρό δίκτυο, στην πράξη δεν τα κατάφερνε). Με wifi mesh/ access points έχεις ένα δίκτυο σε όλο το χώρο.
- Στα θετικά ότι τα περισσότερα repeaters μπαίνουν απλά στην πρίζα χωρίς έξτρα καλώδιο τροφοδοσίας.
Τώρα πάμε ειδικά στα σχόλια για τα Halo H30G:
Η κατασκευάστρια εταιρεία ανήκει στην TP LINK και έχουν το ίδιο τηλέφωνο τεχνικής υποστήριξης, η οποία όταν τους τηλεφώνησα ήταν φιλικοί και εξυπηρετικοί. Τα προτίμησα από αντίστοιχα της μαμάς εταιρείας λόγω διαφοράς σε κόστος. Είναι μικρά, συμπαθητικά ως προς την εμφάνιση και ελαφριά.
Η εγκατάση ως wireless access points φαίνεται ιδιαίτερα εύκολη
Αντίθετα, η εγκατάσταση ως ενσύρματα access points με ταλαιπώρησε όπως και άλλον reviewer με το Halo H50G. Ίσως οφείλεται στο ότι δεν έχω εμπειρία σε αυτό το κομμάτι, αλλά όπως και να έχει, περίμενα την εγκατάσταση πιο φιλική προς το χρήστη.
Μην αναβαθμίσετε το firmware σε κανένα unit από μόνο του. Αναβαθμίστε τα όλα μαζί. Σε εμένα το 3ο unit με παλιό firmware δε μου αναγνωρίζονταν από το δίκτυο των άλλων 2 που τα είχα αναβαθμίσει. Το έλυσα σβήνοντας το δίκτυο των 2 και ξεκινώντας καινούριο δίκτυο με το unit με παλιό firmware ώστε να το αναβαθμίσω κι αυτό. Ο κατασκευαστή έχει οδηγίες για αναβάθμιση firmware μεμονωμένων units, αλλά δεν κατάφερα να τις εφαρμόσω.
Παρά τις οδηγίες του κατασκευαστή ότι σε ενσύρματο access point mode, μπορούν όλα τα units να καλωδιωθούν απευθείας στο router, σε εμένα δε δούλεψε αυτή η συνδεσμολογία. Για να δουλέψει έπρεπε οι 2 δορυφόροι να συνδεθοούν στο κεντρικό unit (μέσω switch) και το κεντρικό unit με ένα καλώδιο απευθείας στο router (και με άλλο καλώδιο στο switch που δίνει ενσύρματο internet σε όλες τις πρίζες συμπεριλαμβανομένων των πριζών που δίνουν Internet στους δορυφόρους).
Ένας δορυφόρος unit πρέπει να συνδεθεί πρώτα ασύρματα (άρα εκεί που πιάνει καλά wifi) και μετά μπορεί να μετακινηθεί όπου θέλουμε με ενσύρματη σύνδεση (άρα και εκεί που δεν πιάνει καθόλου wifi, που ήταν το ζητούμενο στην περίπτωσή μου).
Το καινούριο ασύρματο δίκτυο που έφτιαξαν τα Halo H30G(3-pack) το μετονόμασα στο παλιό μου (ίδιο όνομα και κωδικός), το οποίο το απενργοποίησα από το router. Οι υπάρχουσες συσκευές συνδέθηκαν αυτόματα χωρίς νέο setup.
Αφού έφαγα 2-3 ώρες πειραματιζόμενος και καίγοντας θερμίδες πάνω-κάτω σε σκάλες, τελικά δουλεύει άψογα με με ταχύτητες που πιάνουν σχεδόν τις ονομαστικές του internet provider. Θεωρώντας ότι η ταλαιπωρία μου οφείλεται σε δική μου απειρία και αφού οι συσκευές δουλεύουν όπως πρέπει έδωσα 5 αστεράκια. Καλή επιτυχία!

And somehow, after its purchase, I unplugged two powerline adapters and two wifi repeaters that were simply not working properly, always with delays. It covers from the upper floor of the apartment to the other side of the lower floor, spanning two floors from end to end. From the 50 mbps that the router outputs with a 50 Mbps connection, it gives me 50.6 Mbps on all wifi connections according to the speedtest. We are saved. I hope it proves to be stable over time.
I believe that one alone is not enough to work properly and one of the two needs to have a wired connection to the router.
Και κάπως έτσι, μετά την αγορά του, ξεκούμπωσα δυο powerline και δύο wifi repeater που απλά μια έπαιζαν, μια δεν έπαιζαν και πάντα με καθυστερήσεις. Πιάνει από τον πάνω όροφο διαμερίσματος μέχρι την άλλη μεριά του κάτω, καλύπτει δύο ορόφους από άκρη σε άκρη. Από 50 mbps που βγάζει το router με 50άρα σύνδεση, μου βγάζει στο speedtest σε όλα τα wifi, παντού 50,6 mbps. Σωθήκαμε. Ελπίζω να αποδειχθεί σταθερό στη διάρκεια του χρόνου.
Ένα μόνο του δεν αρκεί για να δουλέψει σωστά πιστεύω και χρειάζεται το ένα από τα δύο να έχει ενσύρματη σύνδεση στο router.
Let me start with some comments regarding wifi repeaters/ extenders, as the differences between them and wifi mesh/ access points were initially unknown to me and I had to research the topic extensively:
The following are the main characteristics of repeaters/ extenders compared to wifi mesh/ access points:
- Most of them do not have the ability to be wired to an existing wired network. This means that they need to be placed where there is at least a moderate wifi signal strength in order to extend it, thus significantly limiting options in larger spaces.
- Each repeater creates its own wifi network (with a different name from the router), resulting in some mobile devices not automatically switching to the stronger network. For example, while moving away from the router's area to the area covered by the repeater, the mobile device will not switch to the repeater's stronger network unless it loses the router's signal. (Despite my Samsung phone having intelligent wifi function for automatic switching to the stronger network, it did not work in practice). With wifi mesh/ access points, you have one network throughout the space.
- On the positive side, most repeaters can simply be plugged into an outlet without the need for extra power cables.
Now let's specifically discuss the comments about the Halo H30G:
The manufacturing company belongs to TP LINK and they have the same technical support phone number, which was friendly and helpful when I called them. I chose them over similar products from the parent company due to the cost difference. They are small, visually appealing, and lightweight.
The installation as wireless access points seems particularly easy.
On the contrary, the installation as wired access points was troublesome for me, as well as for another reviewer with the Halo H50G. Perhaps this is due to my lack of experience in this area, but regardless, I expected the installation to be more user-friendly.
Do not upgrade the firmware on any unit by itself. Upgrade all of them together. In my case, the third unit with old firmware was not recognized by the network of the other two units that I had upgraded. I solved this by deleting the network of the two units and starting a new network with the unit with old firmware in order to upgrade it as well. The manufacturer provides instructions for upgrading firmware on individual units, but I was not able to apply them.
Contrary to the manufacturer's instructions that in wired access point mode, all units can be directly connected to the router, this connection did not work for me. In order for it to work, the two satellites had to be connected to the central unit (via a switch) and the central unit had to be directly connected to the router (and with another cable to the switch that provides wired internet to all outlets, including the outlets that provide internet to the satellites).
One satellite unit must be initially connected wirelessly (where the wifi signal is strong) and then it can be moved to wherever we want with a wired connection (where there is no wifi signal at all, which was my case).
I renamed the new wireless network created by the Halo H30G (3-pack) to my old network (same name and password), which I disabled from the router. The existing devices automatically connected without a new setup.
After spending 2-3 hours experimenting and burning calories up and down stairs, it eventually works flawlessly with speeds that almost reach the nominal speeds of my internet provider. Considering that my inconvenience is due to my own inexperience and since the devices work as they should, I gave 5 stars. Good luck!
Να ξεκινήσω με κάποια σχόλια συγκριτικά με wifi repeaters/ extenders, μιας και για εμένα οι διαφορές τους από τα wifi mesh/ access points δεν ήταν αρχικά γνωστές και έπρεπε να ψάξω αρκετά το θέμα:
Τα repeaters/ extenders έχουν τα εξής βασικά χαρακτηριστικά σε σχέση με wifi mesh/ access points:
- Τα περισσότερα δεν έχουν δυνατότητα να συνδεθούν ενσύρματα με υπάρχον ενσύρματο δίκτυο. Αυτό σημαίνει ότι πρέπει να τοποθετηθούν εκεί που υπάρχει τουλάχιστον μεσαίας έντασης σήμα wifi, ώστε να το επεκτείνουν, άρα περιορίζονται δραστικά οι επιλογές σε μεγάλους χώρους.
- Κάθε repeater δημιουργεί δικό του wifi δίκτυο (άλλο όνομα από του router) με συνέπεια κάποιες κινητές συσκευές να μην αλλάζουν στο πιο ισχυρό δίκτυο από μόνες τους έγκαιρα. Πχ ενώ απομακρύνεσαι με το κινητό από το χώρο του router στο χώρο που πιάνει το repeater, το κινητό δε θα αλλάξει στο ισχυρό δίκτυο του repeater παρά μόνο αν χάσει το σήμα του router. (Το κινητό μου Samsung παρότι έχει λειτουργία intelligent wifi για αυτόματη εναλλαγή στο πιο ισχυρό δίκτυο, στην πράξη δεν τα κατάφερνε). Με wifi mesh/ access points έχεις ένα δίκτυο σε όλο το χώρο.
- Στα θετικά ότι τα περισσότερα repeaters μπαίνουν απλά στην πρίζα χωρίς έξτρα καλώδιο τροφοδοσίας.
Τώρα πάμε ειδικά στα σχόλια για τα Halo H30G:
Η κατασκευάστρια εταιρεία ανήκει στην TP LINK και έχουν το ίδιο τηλέφωνο τεχνικής υποστήριξης, η οποία όταν τους τηλεφώνησα ήταν φιλικοί και εξυπηρετικοί. Τα προτίμησα από αντίστοιχα της μαμάς εταιρείας λόγω διαφοράς σε κόστος. Είναι μικρά, συμπαθητικά ως προς την εμφάνιση και ελαφριά.
Η εγκατάση ως wireless access points φαίνεται ιδιαίτερα εύκολη
Αντίθετα, η εγκατάσταση ως ενσύρματα access points με ταλαιπώρησε όπως και άλλον reviewer με το Halo H50G. Ίσως οφείλεται στο ότι δεν έχω εμπειρία σε αυτό το κομμάτι, αλλά όπως και να έχει, περίμενα την εγκατάσταση πιο φιλική προς το χρήστη.
Μην αναβαθμίσετε το firmware σε κανένα unit από μόνο του. Αναβαθμίστε τα όλα μαζί. Σε εμένα το 3ο unit με παλιό firmware δε μου αναγνωρίζονταν από το δίκτυο των άλλων 2 που τα είχα αναβαθμίσει. Το έλυσα σβήνοντας το δίκτυο των 2 και ξεκινώντας καινούριο δίκτυο με το unit με παλιό firmware ώστε να το αναβαθμίσω κι αυτό. Ο κατασκευαστή έχει οδηγίες για αναβάθμιση firmware μεμονωμένων units, αλλά δεν κατάφερα να τις εφαρμόσω.
Παρά τις οδηγίες του κατασκευαστή ότι σε ενσύρματο access point mode, μπορούν όλα τα units να καλωδιωθούν απευθείας στο router, σε εμένα δε δούλεψε αυτή η συνδεσμολογία. Για να δουλέψει έπρεπε οι 2 δορυφόροι να συνδεθοούν στο κεντρικό unit (μέσω switch) και το κεντρικό unit με ένα καλώδιο απευθείας στο router (και με άλλο καλώδιο στο switch που δίνει ενσύρματο internet σε όλες τις πρίζες συμπεριλαμβανομένων των πριζών που δίνουν Internet στους δορυφόρους).
Ένας δορυφόρος unit πρέπει να συνδεθεί πρώτα ασύρματα (άρα εκεί που πιάνει καλά wifi) και μετά μπορεί να μετακινηθεί όπου θέλουμε με ενσύρματη σύνδεση (άρα και εκεί που δεν πιάνει καθόλου wifi, που ήταν το ζητούμενο στην περίπτωσή μου).
Το καινούριο ασύρματο δίκτυο που έφτιαξαν τα Halo H30G(3-pack) το μετονόμασα στο παλιό μου (ίδιο όνομα και κωδικός), το οποίο το απενργοποίησα από το router. Οι υπάρχουσες συσκευές συνδέθηκαν αυτόματα χωρίς νέο setup.
Αφού έφαγα 2-3 ώρες πειραματιζόμενος και καίγοντας θερμίδες πάνω-κάτω σε σκάλες, τελικά δουλεύει άψογα με με ταχύτητες που πιάνουν σχεδόν τις ονομαστικές του internet provider. Θεωρώντας ότι η ταλαιπωρία μου οφείλεται σε δική μου απειρία και αφού οι συσκευές δουλεύουν όπως πρέπει έδωσα 5 αστεράκια. Καλή επιτυχία!

First of all, let me say that I have installed them in an apartment on a nova fiber 500 line. The two units are about 8 meters apart, with a wall in between.
The one next to the router gives me the same speeds as the router.
The second one, with WiFi, loses more than 50% compared to the one next to the router, but it still performs better than the repeater I had, and the PC I connected to the second unit via ethernet gets more than 50% (the same PC with powerline was at 180).
Based on the above, I am satisfied. I expected the WiFi to be a bit better, but considering their cost, they are very good.
Now, time will tell how stable they are.
I should add that the apartment is on the 3rd floor and I get a signal on the ground floor (2 bars), whereas before I had none, so I give it 5 stars
καταρχην να πω ότι τα εχω βαλει σε διαμερισμα πανω σε γραμμη nova fiber 500. Το ενα με το αλλο εχουν αποσταση περίπου 8 μετρα στο περιπου και παρεμβαλεται ενας τοίχος.
Αυτο που ειναι διπλα στο ρουτερ μου δινει ιδιες ταχυτητες με το ρουτερ
Το δεύτερο με wifi χανει περισσότερο απο 50% σε σχεση με αυτο που ειναι στο ρουτερ αλλα παραπανω ομως απο repeater που ειχα και το pc που συνδεσα στο δευτερο με ethernet ειναι πανω απο το 50% το ιδιο pc με powerline ηταν στα 180
Με βαση τα παραπανω ευχαριστημενος ειμαι το περιμενα λιγο καλυτερο το wifi αλλα με βαση το κοστος τους ειναι πολυ καλα.
Τωρα ο χρονος θα δειξει το ποσο σταθερα ειναι
να προσθεσω οτι το διαμερισμα ειναι στον 3ο και ποιανω σημα στο ισογειο 2 γραμμες αλλα εχω εκει που δεν ειχα καθολου οποτε το παω 5 αστερια

Τοποθετήθηκε το ένα δίπλα στο ρουτερ στο ισόγειο, και τα άλλα δύο σε πρώτο και δεύτερο όροφο αντίστοιχα. Οι μετρήσεις εξαιρετικές, αντε να χάνει 2-3mbps στους οροφους. Σταθερότατο στη σύνδεση, ξενοιασα από τις διακοπές που έκαναν τα powerline. Πολλές επιλογές μέσω της εφαρμογής, δεν έχω ψάξει ακόμη σε βάθος, έχω σεταρει μόνο ένα guest δίκτυο για επισκέπτες. Τέλος, πολύ σημαντικό και βολικό ότι όλα φαίνονται σαν ένα wifi δίκτυο, που παίζει και σε 2.4 και σε 5 Ghz. Έχω συνδέσει πάνω γύρω στις 20 συσκευές (από κινητά και τηλεόραση μέχρι smart sockets) και όλα δουλεύουν άψογα! Πολύ καλή αγορά.
Not for me!! The speed on my router was reaching 90mbps and from the Halo it dropped to 30!! All this with a connection from the router to the first halo with ethernet and the measurements were taken side by side.

It saved me since I struggled with a router and couldn't figure it out no matter how many settings I tried. In the basement and at a distance of 6 meters, it didn't work properly, but in other milder conditions, it is perfect and in my opinion, it has a very reasonable price
