When the Italians reached the doorstep of Greece, Peter was nine years old, had a turtle as a pet, passionately loved American movies, and only knew about war through books. But now he experiences it every day with his parents, his grandfather, and his older sister, Antigone, starting a long walk - a stroll through occupied Athens during those difficult years of hunger, rations, fear, and persecution.

Guided by his beloved heroes from Greek history and with adolescence just around the corner, Peter, along with his sister and friends, does not hesitate to take part in the Resistance, always having a song as his motto: Always ahead of us, for a new life...
