Description

The Adata Legend 840 SSD 512GB is a powerful and efficient storage unit that uses the M.2 NVMe PCI Express 4.0 connection. With a capacity of 512GB, it offers ample space for storing data, applications, and games, while the PCIe 4.0 technology ensures high data transfer speeds, reducing loading times and improving overall system performance. The NVMe protocol enhances the speed and efficiency of the unit, making it ideal for demanding applications and gaming. The Adata Legend 840 is designed to provide reliable and fast performance, making it an excellent choice for upgrading or building a new computer.

The ultimate in performance

The LEGEND 840 offers sequential read and write speeds of 5000/4500 MB per second, which is up to 3 times faster than a typical PCIe Gen3 SSD and 15 times faster than a SATA SSD. It is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 and is built for creation, whether it's virtual design, animations, or game development!

Compatible with PS5

The LEGEND 840 works with PS5 consoles as extended storage. Not only does its size comply with the slot design, but it also provides smooth and lag-free gaming.

I have put it in an external case and I have it as an external drive, the read write speeds are so high that I can edit and my Mac sees it as an internal disk, no issues with plans and timeline flow, if you are looking for an expansion for your Mac, it is the best!

It is the second ADATA M.2 that I have purchased. The speeds shown in the screenshot are indicative and it performs even better, all on an old motherboard with M.2 PCI Express x2. On a new one with PCI Express 4.0, I am sure it would reach its nominal speeds, but it is still faster than the Samsung Evo it replaced. Its software is very good and it even has a cloning option which works exceptionally well. Keep in mind that M.2 drives occupy most of the bandwidth, so not all SATA ports will be available. As a downside, you could say that its heatsink is basic, rather a thin flat plate without ridges or a "comb" profile, and as shown in the pictures, you have to attach it yourself, but I think this applies to other models as well.

EDIT: After 8 months, its health dropped to 99% according to the very good software, indicating that it has processed 8.8 terabytes of data. Personally, considering the money I paid, I don't consider it a problem. Important files are ALWAYS stored on an external hard drive.

They are used (2) in Raid1 to accelerate Read-Write on NAS with HDD disks in Raid5. They multiplied (minimum) the writing speed by five. It shows very fast, good value for performance ratio.
