Saint Nicholas is getting ready with his faithful elf to deliver gifts to children. They start but a fierce fog combined with Rudolph's weak light as he is upset, causes them to get lost and crash land on the island of the sun along with all the gifts, except for 5 that fall on the ice island.

There they are found by Asterix and Obelix who are trying to fix Obelix's broken umbrella.
