    The first few days they were hitting me in the front of the ankle. As soon as I completely loosened the laces and the shoes gradually took the shape of my foot, they were perfect. I have run several demanding races on both asphalt and dirt. I would say that the shoes are a bit heavy, but when you step down, especially on steep slopes, you don't strain your knees, waist, or ankles. As for shock absorption, they are very good. They are also quite durable if you consider that I ran on a mountain.
