  • Good tool, quite expensive to very expensive for the amateur but worth it if you know how to handle it, you will say it's worth the money you spent on buying it, it elevates your level in terms of your psychology in specialized bicycle repairs... And be sure that with a little attention, clear thinking mainly, and patience, the final result will be much better than any bicycle repair shop, I sign it and there is no discussion at all!
    The secret is the very small pressure exercises on the lever. For example, if we have a deviation of 10 millimeters (which is considered a large deviation) from two opposite points, we will apply a very minimal force on the lever in order to distribute this deviation in half, that is, approximately at 3-4 millimeters maximum displacement from the bent nail.
    Always start from East to West (meaning the valve of the rear wheel should face forward (in the middle of the wheel - slightly above or below the spoke) take the measurement on the rim of the wheel in the same line as the valve, then rotate the wheel so that the valve moves to the back (in the opposite position from before) and measure again. Always measure two or three times to be sure due to initial insecurity and logical inexperience as amateurs.
    Make a small initial correction. Measure again! If everything is going well, the two points are almost equal (with a difference of 2-3 millimeters maximum), then we go to measure North-South, that is, the upper and lower point. ALWAYS our measurements will be on the rim of the wheel where the valve is located (to avoid problems with wheel distortion due to incorrect alignment and therefore inaccurate measurements during the process).
    IMPORTANT note: In the North-South point, the indicator for a trued bar works perfectly. But in the Eastern point where we initially have to measure in order to move towards the Western point, NO! There is no chance that we will have the initial measurement we made with the extended trued indicator! It cannot rotate the lever! It finds itself either on the spoke or on the diagonal. I used a ruler! And in all four points, the final deviation was at a maximum of 2 millimeters! Up to a 3 millimeter difference, the deviation is acceptable.
    There are several videos on YouTube that explain in detail the use of these tools. (They all have the same operating principle)
    In the Park Tool video, I couldn't figure it out. RJ the bike guy is enlightening in one of his videos, in the other, he also learns the function of it.
    For me, this is the best video by far and then RJ's video using a ruler.
