The JJC LH-J55C lens hood is designed for the OLYMPUS M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-50mm 1:3.5-6.3 EZ lens. It limits unwanted stray light and, by extending beyond the end of the lens, provides extra protection against accidental impacts.

Its petal-shaped design takes the image aspect ratio into account: the taller sections of the hood block stray light, while the shorter sections allow more light to reach the corners. The hood can also be mounted in reverse on the lens when not in use.
