Description

Description

Not without reason, Yamaha's HS series ranks among the best-selling active monitors in their category worldwide. The HS 8 is a high-performance bi-amplified system consisting of a 1" tweeter and an 8" woofer, driven by separate 45 W and 75 W amplifiers and housed in carefully designed bass-reflex enclosures.

Thanks to a well-thought-out design based on Yamaha's decades of experience, the speakers are able to fully develop their capabilities without significant coloration at high volumes.

The result is a high-quality sound, present throughout the HS series, which has a natural sound and is balanced across the entire audible spectrum.

The big brother of the HS series

With the 8" bass driver, the HS 8 sits at the top of the series in terms of size and power. Compared to the HS 5 and HS 7, it is lower in the sound spectrum.

Yamaha specifies an impressive frequency response from 38 Hz to 30 kHz. The speaker is an ideal candidate for medium to large spaces. With the "Room Control" and "High Trim" functions, it has two EQs, one for bass and one for treble, so that necessary corrections can be made, for example when the speaker is placed directly against a wall.

A reliable monitor

The HS series of active monitors from Yamaha is an ideal choice for those seeking affordable and reliable equipment.

The speakers do not flatter the sound nor do they try to artificially differentiate themselves from the competition with excessive bass and treble responses, thus paving the way for professional-quality music productions.

Thanks to the 8" woofer, the HS 8 is an excellent choice for music genres that place a strong emphasis on bass frequencies.

    INCREDIBLE SOUND.
I've been craving for audio producing for a long time until the moment came to buy them.
First impression is that they shout QUALITY CONSTRUCTION from afar...
We're talking about THE rich sound, especially when reproducing modern tracks with modern and very good mastering.
They are very sensitive when it comes to room configuration. For example, in my case with the balcony door open on my right side at 1m, it feels like it 'loses' the balance from the right, so I have to balance it from the mixer.
In my opinion, you definitely need a mixer WITH EQ for your source channel (you can work with a cheap one, under 100€) in order to manually and quickly compensate for such balance and bass issues. For example, late at night if you play them at very low volume (due to the time), they produce very little bass that is unsatisfying, so I have to raise it almost to the maximum from the mixer's EQ.

In general, if you don't have a properly configured room (like me) for accurate listening, you almost always have to boost the bass from the mixer. - It's NOT Yamaha's fault if you can't hear the bass (!!) but the EQ settings and the room. -

At the 235€ I bought them, I believe it's a super price. Very satisfied with the purchase.
Obviously, it's not a coincidence that they are Reference Monitors worldwide...
