It is a medical device according to Directive 93/42 / EEC and at the same time a personal protective equipment according to Regulation 2016/425.

The main function of the FFP2 mask is to protect the person wearing it from transmitted droplets carried by those around them during talking, sneezing, and coughing. It has a protection grade of 95% and is a type of European certification, equivalent to the American N95 and the Chinese KN95. It is mainly used in health care facilities.

This mask consists of three layers of synthetic non-woven material, each with a different thickness. Between the layers are the filtering layers. FFP2 filters particles up to 0.075 µm, providing stricter protection.

This specific mask features an adjustable strip in the nose area to fit closer to the face.
