What is a brushless motor?

In DC electric motors, at the point where the electric current is supplied to their rotating part, two brushes (also called carbon brushes) are used. Over time, due to friction, the brushes wear out and need to be replaced. For this reason, in recent years, brushless electric motors have been developed, which greatly surpass a brushed motor.

Advantages

  • Due to the absence of brushes, they exhibit minimal mechanical wear and the need for maintenance is minimized.
  • They have higher efficiency.
  • No noise and sparks are caused by friction.
  • They achieve very high speeds.

  • It was chosen after a recommendation from a trusted store with assurances about its quality and the guarantee of the representative in Greece, IF there was ever a problem. After two uses, not particularly extensive (it was NEVER used professionally), a year and a half after purchase, it developed the following problem: the sanding disc did not rotate perpendicularly to the axis of rotation but at some angle. As a result, it caused vibration and unexpected rotational movement to the wrist.
When this was reported to the representative, it was pointed out that due to the invoice, it had one and not two years of warranty—a note found in small print on their website.
After I accepted the repair charge (40 euros including shipping), it was returned, theoretically repaired, but practically with the same problem to a lesser extent.
It was sent a second time for service and, without charge this time, it came back repaired. For now, at least. We’ll see how it performs in future tasks.

Conclusion: It does what it says, a powerful tool. It gets serious work done as long as it works.
Would I buy it again? Maybe not, given my experience with the malfunction (which makes me worry about its build quality) and the tricks of the representative. Probably, especially for a professional tool, I would go for the corresponding Mirka, which all eccentric sanders of this "architecture" imitate.

  • With a maximum of 12 hours of use, I sent it for service because it suddenly stopped working. They told me it needs over €100 to be fixed, so I consider it useless

Within 6 months of purchase, it suddenly stopped. Minimal use. From the service, while I explained to them, they told me that there is no issue. While the machine wouldn't even turn on. Several days have passed and still nothing.
