The PowerBass STA-8 active car subwoofer combines an 8-inch woofer with a 150 W RMS Class A/B mono amplifier. Its ventilated aluminum enclosure has a trapezoidal shape and is designed for installation in tight spaces. The woofer features a polypropylene cone, a 40 oz ferrite magnet and a 1.5-inch voice coil.

High-level (speaker) and low-level (RCA) inputs allow connection to factory or aftermarket radios. The amplifier includes variable gain control and a low-pass filter, while the auto turn-on circuit works with a high-level input. Dual mounting straps allow the subwoofer to be removed when more space is needed.
