I didn't try it for two tons, but without the pulley (i.e. with a single wire rope) it easily pulled an old car that needed to be moved up an incline. Under heavy load, the ratchet sometimes and momentarily does not lock, it helps to drip a little lubricant. The safety spring does not have a plastic cover like in other models, and it has two positions, one for normal operation and one for disengagement-unwinding. Otherwise, the build quality is adequate and as expected for its price.
