The Greek language, which has been spoken continuously, with its various changes, from at least the second millennium BC to the present day and which, according to the orator Cicero, is considered worthy to be spoken even by the gods, is closely intertwined with the culture, life, and fortunes of the Greeks throughout their over three-thousand-year historical journey.

In this wonderful language, the most perfect of all languages, according to foreign scholars, the divine Homer, the tragic poets of classical antiquity, the Attic orators, and others composed their immortal masterpieces. These great spiritual leaders emerge through their works as undeniably teachers and guides of humanity and great anatomists of the human soul.

It has become clear to all who scientifically engage with linguistic issues that it is not an easy task to fully document and scientifically analyze such a language, which has been fortunate to be cultivated by wonderful intellectual men.

For the writing of this work, I took into account not only the earlier philologists and linguists who wrote grammars of the ancient Greek language but also some of the findings of contemporary linguistic theories. Furthermore, an effort was made, alongside the presented and examined linguistic phenomena of ancient Greek, to frequently reference the corresponding phenomena of modern Greek.

I wish to believe that this book will find the appropriate response from students, scholars, teachers, and researchers.
