Geralt of Rivia crosses the gate of Vizima to claim the reward he saw on the proclamation, which is posted everywhere in the kingdom: 3,000 orens are offered to the one who will lift the curse from King Foltest's daughter. Because, although the princess died the day she was born, for the past six years she has been coming out of her coffin on full moon nights, transformed into a striga, to feed on the blood of her hapless victims. Before Geralt, many wizards, hermits, shepherds, knights, and other witchers attempted to face this challenge. They all failed. Besides this sensitive mission, Geralt of Rivia will also have to thwart the intrigues of Vizima's officials. Because in the Witcher's world, human deceit and ambition know no bounds.
