The Toshiba Yukai has received excellent reviews for its silent operation, efficient cooling and heating, as well as low energy consumption. Most users confirm that it is completely silent, both the indoor and outdoor unit, making it ideal for those seeking peace and quiet. In cooling, it performs very well even in high temperatures, quickly and effectively reducing the temperature.
Positive points:
✔ Silent operation – In quiet mode, it is almost impossible to tell if it is running.
✔ Economical consumption – According to users, it consumes up to 50% less energy compared to older models.
✔ Powerful cooling & heating – Performs exceptionally well even in large spaces or challenging conditions (e.g., external temperature -2°C).
✔ Good price-performance ratio – Comparable to more expensive models, yet remains affordable.
Negative points:
✖ Lack of WiFi.
✖ No additional features – Does not have an ionizer or advanced filters for allergies.
✖ Dependence on proper installation – It is essential to have it installed by a specialized team, otherwise its performance may be affected.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
The overall impression is very positive: users mainly praise its quiet operation and low energy consumption. They also report strong cooling and heating performance, along with good value for money. However, some point out the extra cost for Wi-Fi and issues with breakdowns or repair service.
The air conditioner is completely silent, and in cooling mode, where I run it continuously 24/7, it has used a total of 7 kWh altogether for the entire house's consumption.
Purchase of two Yukai 12,000 btu
Initially, be careful because to make it WiFi-enabled, you need an adapter and rarely do they tell you this in the store unless you ask, and it costs 119 euros.
The indoor unit is very simple without many lights and does not display the temperature you have selected.
A big minus is that it does not have a ready-made cut on the side for the pipes to pass through, resulting in the technician having to cut the plastic with a utility knife (I uploaded a photo) and if he is careless, forget it.
It was purchased solely for Toshiba's reliability and because it is the most economical machine along with some other brands.
As for noise, it is only heard a little on the high setting, generally it is silent.
The outdoor unit is silent and small.
The remote control is also not backlit.
As for consumption, after measuring on heating mode, it starts at 800 to 900 Watts and after about half an hour when it reaches temperature, it drops to 390, 360, even 300 watts.
Toshiba's reliability will show over time.
I am very satisfied. It is a minimal tool, without too many extras, but it performs its basic function excellently. Economical, quiet. The compressor is reinforced Japanese, it can withstand a lot of cold, it doesn't need anything.
I think we don't buy an air conditioner every day, we buy something good once to last us. And due to its economy (real, not just on paper) it will return the money to us through the electricity bill
Very good machine, but if you need repairs, there is nothing worse. I took it to an authorized service center in Glyfada and they asked for more money because they had made a mistake in the diagnosis and it needed another spare part. I spoke with the headquarters and they pretended not to know.
It is silent inside and out. And in the cold and in the heat, it performs perfectly. Be careful that the installation crew is authorized
It is an excellent machine with specifications that are hard to find at this price, but it does not have the little mirrors for the natives, meaning an ionizer (which in reality, true ionizers are machines counted on one hand that have ionization and not just on paper). Also, it does not have Wi-Fi (the board costs 95 euros!!) or activated carbon filters, etc., and if there are allergies, you will need to look for something else. The machine is completely silent and has very good consumption; I consider it one of the best. Of course, there are machines costing 800-1000 euros that you will see consuming under 180w in stable operation (not on-off). Moreover, Toshiba, like Panasonic - Daikin, etc. (you can find the technical specifications of the machine) states that for the Yukai 10, the manufacturer mentions that the compressor's minimum operating wattage is 180 watts in cooling and 200 watts in heating; below this, it simply starts the on-off. The purchase was made at 539 euros at the end of June, and the price included installation costs, and a payment of 30 euros was made for the uninstallation of the old air conditioner, which, however, my crew scheduled a rendezvous after a month on 26/7/2024. GENERALLY, THE CORRECT INSTALLATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. More than 2.5 meters of pipe was installed; Toshiba gives a minimum of 2 meters, but many types like Midea and Daikin require 3 meters!! minimum... and A VACUUM WAS CREATED, WHICH IN THE MANUAL THE MANUFACTURER DEFINES!!! (AND THIS APPLIES TO ALL!!) The result... an excellent machine in a 10 square meter space without insulation with wooden frames in the center of Athens, it lowers the temperature from 31-32 degrees when I return in the afternoon to 27 in 10-15 minutes, and from the initial consumption of 800 watts, it gradually goes down to 380w, remaining all afternoon at 240w, from 21:00 onwards at 200w, and with the eco mode, which essentially reduces consumption by 20-30 watts, it remains steadily without on-off at 180-183 watts. Conversely, if I am cold in the morning with a temperature setting of 28 degrees, it starts the on-off at 4w - 8w with 163-168 watts, all from TAPO 110. Something that impressed me compared to the old non-inverter is that it does not produce water (it is minimal), it is silent, I do not hear the unit inside or outside, and I know that it is also economical for heating (where it all hurts), especially the Chinese ones, even branded ones have good performance in the cold, but they consume a lot in heating; a similar machine is the Panasonic, but Toshiba has a 7-year warranty. Consumption... because before I installed the new one, I had taken the Tapo and was watching the old one, the difference is that the old one burned 7KW maximum, the new one 4KW; on other days, for example, when the old one burned 4KW, this one had 2.5KW (the difference is significant) almost 50%. Also, before I made the final decision to take the Toshiba, I thought about not getting 2 HAIER TIDE GREEN PLUS for a little more money... inside the insomnia forum, they talk about air conditioners on thousands of pages... unfortunately, this specific one does not go below 300 watts consumption and does on-off (and this applies to all economical machines). The result of the consumption difference will be paid off within a few years (1-2)

The worst thing I have ever bought! I said no, don't give it for 50 euros (recycling), let me see what it has and there is no communication between the internal and external unit! External circuit board corrosion on another level!
The best thing I have bought in air conditioners! Completely silent both the indoor and outdoor unit, to the point where you wonder if it is in operation! You don't hear the slightest noise! Even in hi power mode, it is the quietest thing I have heard! Amazing in cooling and heating and very economical in energy consumption!
Purchase with closed eyes at 833 euros.
(16000btu, living room-kitchen 31m²)
Very good air conditioner, quiet, economical but above all very good performance in both heating and cooling. One of the very positive aspects is the immediate response of the company to a problem that arose and was resolved quickly. I would buy it again.
It concerns the 16000 BTU top and in heating with -2 degrees outside temperature room 42 square meters with 23 degrees comfortably with the fan at 3/5, also the room humidity dropped from 70% to 40%!! Purchase around 900€ but worth it as it is one of the most economical in power consumption 16s of the market!!
In quiet mode, we look at the lights to understand if it's working.
Cooling: it gives us everything we ask for.
If you are interested in a functional machine from a manufacturer of air conditioners (Toshiba-Carrier) that performs with basic functions and not gimmicks like follow me, etc., is completely silent and has a 7-year warranty, go for it. At the same time, find a reliable service to install it with proper specifications because it is very important.
I am writing this review mainly because I believe that its current rating (3 stars at the moment I am typing) creates the wrong impression that it is a mediocre product. On the contrary, it may be one of the best solutions if someone is looking for an air conditioner of a reputable brand with good specifications and a reasonable price. Especially in the last year, when everything has become more expensive. Personally, considering the specifications and price, I consider it top-notch along with some models from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries that are out of the picture for me due to their larger indoor unit size and limited wall space. Something that is not mentioned on the official website but is definitely worth noting is that especially in the 24,000 BTU model of Yukai, Toshiba decided to use the double compressor that it uses in its more expensive model series, resulting in similar performance despite the significantly lower price.
Ultimately, this particular product was purchased to be used as the main heating and cooling system in an old house with high ceilings (3.3m) and no insulation so far. The ground floor is 43 square meters, not a single space, with branches, a hallway, and an internal staircase leading to the second floor, causing continuous heat loss. Not the easiest task...
First Test
The heatwave in July was the first strong test for the machine. Perhaps the worst possible scenario. The external temperature was 43 degrees, the walls were heating up, and the thermometer inside was reaching 34 degrees. I set the desired temperature to 27 degrees and the fan of the unit to automatic mode with the eco function activated.
Result:
The air conditioner had no difficulty in quickly cooling the majority of the ground floor. Despite the spatial difficulties, within two hours even the difficult adjacent areas had dropped to 28 degrees. All this while the external temperature remained steadily above 40 degrees.
Measuring the power consumption, initially it fluctuated slightly above 800 watts and gradually stabilized at 500-550 watts. Considering the conditions and the space, it performed excellently in cooling. As for heating, I reserve my judgment until it is tested in the coming winter.
In terms of noise, the outdoor unit is surprisingly quiet. While you expect the worst from a 24,000 BTU unit, its behavior is more similar to a 12,000 BTU unit running at idle. Perhaps the double compressor I mentioned earlier played a role here, as well as the fact that the installation was done on the ground.
Internally, the result depends on how you set the unit's fan. From the minimum setting, where the noise is almost imperceptible, to the maximum setting, where it starts to resemble an extractor fan, and of course, all the intermediate levels.
In the month that I have been using it, I have not noticed any significant vibrations or expansions/contractions in its plastic parts that are sometimes encountered in more budget-friendly models.
One last thing
Pay special attention to the installation process, regardless of the air conditioner you choose. By reading many reviews about various air conditioners during the market research, one can easily see that a part of the problems and complaints is related to poor installations.
Unfortunately, a significant part of the industry is not composed of serious professionals. Especially in recent years, with the free installation packages, the tendency to cut corners has become the norm. Even if you have to raise your voice or dismiss a crew, insist on the specifications being followed, for example. Minimum length of pipes, use a vacuum pump for a reasonable period of time. Also ask for shock absorbers if the installation is done on a wall, even if it costs extra.
The manufacturers are not stupid to ask for specific things and certainly Mr. Babis, the technician, is not smarter and cooler to tell you that you don't need one thing or another, in order to finish quickly and make it to the next appointment. Even if everything seems to be working fine at first glance, you cannot know if the air conditioner is actually functioning properly, nor if there is a risk of more serious damage in the future.
Aποτέλεσμα;
I bought this product in February...since then, the ordeal began...it makes a crazy noise that is unbearable...Toshiba is non-existent...there is no worse dealership...stay away, far away

Aποτέλεσμα;
I bought this product in February...since then, the ordeal began...it makes a crazy noise that is unbearable...Toshiba is non-existent...there is no worse dealership...stay away, far away
The ultimate value for money. Excellent performance, beautiful design, silent operation. Completely satisfied.

Really completely silent, efficient, and economical to use.
