Walking along the shore, I often observe the sand. Sometimes it is wet from the waves, other times dry, hot, or cold; it is impossible not to capture attention.
I trap a little sand in my palm, as much as it can hold. I admire what I see, what I touch, what I squeeze in my hand. The fingers will then slowly open, and the grains will fall, returning to the beach once again. Back to Mother Earth.
The grains of sand resemble thoughts, I say. Some leave with a simple breeze, lasting as long as a gentle wind. They are easily forgotten. Other thoughts, which are heavy, seem immovable, remaining to weigh us down or haunt us.
However, there are also the important, the precious, or the invaluable ones that we ourselves want to keep, not to forget. To remember them forever.
In this way, I thought to collect a few thoughts, to hold onto them and place them in a glass hourglass. To exist so that I do not forget them. And when one side fills up, to turn the hourglass upside down, to see them and relive them.
Like a dream we loved and want to see again. Thus, this collection was born. From thoughts that became verses and, as they grew, transformed into beloved poems.
