Description

For more than a hundred years, Yamaha has built a legacy of superior craftsmanship and innovation, which is reflected in all its products — from an unrivaled catalog of world-class musical instruments to professional, tour-grade audio. Now in its third generation, the MG series embodies this pursuit of perfection in its design and includes technologies developed for top professional consoles, such as studio-quality preamps, powerful digital processing, and robust, reliable construction.

With an intuitive and user-friendly interface, the MG series features a wide range of compact mixers, with models from six to twenty channels, suitable for a broad spectrum of users and applications. Whether for installed systems, recording, or live music events, the sturdy construction and flexible design of these consoles allow you to shape your sound with confidence, consistently delivering top performance and a level of sound quality and reliability unmatched in its class.

D-PRE (Discrete Class-A Mic Preamps)

The D-PRE preamps deliver rich, natural low frequencies and smooth, clear highs with minimal distortion, while featuring an exceptionally wide frequency range that allows them to handle signals from any audio source without overemphasizing specific elements of the sound. With such a clean and accurate sonic foundation to build upon, you will save time and effort, as the need for excessive EQ or additional effects processing to "fix" your mix will be significantly reduced.

High-Quality Audio Op-amp

The preamplifier (head amp) determines the quality of the sound, and the integrated op-amp circuits are among the most important components in the preamplifier circuit. The mixers of the MG series feature new, high-quality, specially designed MG01 op-amps, developed in collaboration with a semiconductor manufacturer.

Switchable Phantom Power & PAD Switch

Thanks to the fantastic power supply, the MG series consoles allow you to fully utilize the wider frequency response and high sound quality offered by condenser microphones.

The input channel with PAD switch accepts signals from MIC level to line level. The PAD switch reduces the volume of high-level signals, which often accompany miked instruments during performance, thus avoiding "clipping" that can seriously affect your mix.

It's a fine console, you just need to learn what the little screen on the top right does (delay, echo, phaser, dis, etc.). Just note that if you are looking for the MG10X model with a port to connect to a computer, it's the MG10XU model and not the MG10X (the MG10X manual says it also has a computer port, but that's not true). Anyway, it's a great console for medium-sized concerts
