I have, from time to time, owned branded air conditioners from Mitsubishi Heavy, Toshiba Japan, Fujitsu, Panasonic. I am a consumer who looks for the best value for money purchase, one that also has good reviews, and in general I avoid brands of doubtful quality, let alone unknown ones.
So here we have the exception to the rule. After 20 years since my last purchase (a Panasonic conventional unit with R410 refrigerant), I decided to add extra air conditioners to the house because summers in Athens have now become unbearable with the prolonged heat.
So while searching and doing market research, I had what we call a total brain freeze!!! Things are not like they used to be. The big brands (see Daikin-Mitsubishi-Toyotomi (Japan)-Carrier-Toshiba) have lost their shine because they are now manufactured in third-world factories and their quality is now under question due to materials and competition. Contract factories from Turkey and the Far East, Thailand and China make mix-and-match air conditioners, and if you manage to settle on one, you see reviews that are either extremely positive or extremely negative (which I will explain below why). I was overwhelmed, guys!! Anyway, a friend of a friend, as usual, recommended the Nordstar Plus... what is this, what kind of Chinese thing is this?!!! I wondered. Man, I’m buying an air conditioner, not a USB charger to throw away in a month!
So, what did people in the field tell me, refrigeration technicians? We have a company with 35 years in the business, spare parts and service of course, 10-year warranty like most others (with supposedly annual service for €15 per air conditioner). In case of failure or board malfunction, because that is where air conditioners suffer the painful fault (if you manage to burn out the compressor, you are one of the few), you can replace it yourself too; it is a clip-on canister, meaning easy in-and-out access, and the price is like a coffee maker. It has a Sanyo compressor, and all the modern goodies like Wi‑Fi and the rest.
I thought about it and said I’ll do the crazy thing! In the end, so far I’ve been very satisfied: both the 24k and the 9k are quiet, with performance and material quality both in the plastics and the metal parts of the units; nothing creaks. But here I want you to PAY ATTENTION: installation is what makes the difference, which is why you will see reviews for the same model that are contradictory. I didn’t go to a chain store to have them come and install it quickly and move on to the next customer. I wanted a technician to come, see the space, recommend which unit, where and how they would be installed, point out any difficulties like concrete, beams, lighting cables, inform me about the whole purchase and what I was getting, and then decide — and that’s exactly what happened. Now, if I see something over time that I don’t like, since I haven’t used them long enough, I’ll update you. But don’t be afraid of it; it has nothing to envy from the well-known brands, and you’ll see that in five years we’ll be driving Chinese cars — these guys know what they’re doing.
20-12-25: A year and a bit later and nothing has changed for the worse; I’m still satisfied, performance and operation are excellent! The truth is that I also find it hard to believe.
1/9/26: All good after two years and we keep going
Κάτοχος κατά καιρούς επωνύμων κλιματιστικών mitsubishi heavy, Toshiba japan,fujitsu, Panasonic είμαι ένας καταναλωτής όπου κοιτώ την Πίο value for money αγορά η οποία θα έχει και καλές κριτικές και γενικά αποφεύγω μάρκες αμφιβόλου ποιότητας πόσο μάλλον τις άγνωστες.
Εδώ λοιπόν έχουμε την εξαίρεση του κανόνα,μετά από 20 χρόνια απ' την τελευταία αγορά (panasonic συμβατικά με ψυκτικό μέσο r410)είπα να συμπληρώσω στο σπίτι έξτρα κλιματιστικά διότι πλέον τα καλοκαίρια στην Αθήνα έχουν γίνει ανυπόφορα με την παρατεταμένη ζέστη.
Στο ψάξιμο λοιπόν στην έρευνα αγοράς παθαίνω αυτό που λέμε κοκομπλόκο!!! Τα πράγματα δεν είναι όπως παλιά κραταιές μάρκες (βλέπε daikin-mitsubishi-toyotomi(Japan)-carrier-toshiba) έχουν χάσει την αίγλη τους λόγω του ότι πλέον κατασκευάζονται σε εργοστάσια του τρίτου κόσμου και η ποιότητα τους βρίσκεται πλέον υπό αμφισβήτηση λόγο υλικών και ανταγωνισμού,εργοστάσια φασόν από Τουρκία κ άπω Ανατολή Ταϊλάνδη κ 'κίνα φτιάχνουν mix and match κλιματιστικά και αν καταφέρεις και κατασταλάξεις κάπου βλέπεις κριτικές ή του ύψους ή του βάθους (που θα σας εξηγήσω παρακάτω το γιατί) πελάγωσα παιδιά!! Τέλος πάντων ο γνωστός του γνωστού όπως συνηθίζεται μου πρότεινε το nordstar το plus... τιν τούτο τι κινέζια είναι αυτή;;!!! Αναρωτήθηκα. Ρε φίλε κλιματιστικό θα πάρω όχι φορτιστή usb να τον πετάξω σε ένα μήνα!
Λοιπόν τι μου είπαν άνθρωποι του χώρου ψυκτικοί, έχουμε κ λέμε αντιπροσωπεία 35 χρόνια στο χώρο ανταλλακτικά και σέρβις εννοειτε, 10 έτη εγγύηση όπως στα περισσότερα (με και καλά σέρβις κάθε χρόνο 15€ ανά κλιματιστικό) σε περίπτωση αστοχίας βλάβης πλακέτας διότι τα κλιματιστικά εκεί παθαίνουν την βλάβη που σε πονάει (αν καταφέρεις και κάψεις συμπιεστή είσαι απ' τους λίγους) την αλλάζεις κ μόνος είναι κουμπωτή κονσέρβα δηλαδή βάλε βγάλε με ευκολία στην πρόσβαση, και τιμή όσο μια καφετιέρα, συμπιεστή sanyo, και όλα τα σύγχρονα καλούδια wifi και τα σχετικά.
Το σκέφτομαι λέω θα το κάνω το απονενοημένο! τελικά μέχρι στιγμής έχω μείνει πολύ ικανοποιημένος ΑΘΌΡΥΒΟ και το 24αρι και το 9αρι, απόδοση και ποιότητα υλικών και στα πλαστικά και στα μεταλλικά μέρη των μονάδων, δεν τρίζει τίποτα αλλά εδώ θέλω να ΠΡΟΣΈΞΕΤΕ η εγκατάσταση είναι που κάνει την διαφορά για αυτό θα δεις κριτικές για το ίδιο μοντέλο οι οποίες θα είναι αντιφατικές εγώ δεν πήγα σε αλυσίδα καταστημάτων να έρθουν να μου το βάλουν άρπα κόλλα κ να πάνε στον επόμενο ήθελα να έρθει να δει το χώρο ο τεχνικός να μου προτείνει ποιο,που κ' πως θα τοποθετηθούν να μου υποδείξει τυχόν δυσκολίες μπετά,δοκάρια,καλώδια φωτισμού να με ενημερώσει για το όλο κομμάτι της αγοράς και του τι παίρνω και μετά να αποφασίσω και όπως κ έγινε. Τώρα αν δω κάτι το οποίο δεν θα μου αρέσει σε βάθος χρόνου διότι δεν τα έχω δουλέψει αρκετά θα ενημερώσω πάντως μη το φοβάστε δεν έχει να ζηλέψει τίποτα από τα γνωστά brands και θα δείτε ότι σε μια πενταετία θα οδηγάμε κινέζικα αυτοκίνητα οι τύποι ξέρουν τι κάνουν.
20-12-25 ένας χρόνος και κάτι και δεν έχει αλλάξει κάτι προς το χειρότερο είμαι ακόμα ευχαριστημένος, απόδοση και λειτουργία άριστη! Η αλήθεια είναι ότι και εγώ δυσκολεύομαι να το πιστέψω
